I've been wanting to get my hands on a Phoenix for years, finally found out Bacci had a few ... Talked with him, then he setup one of his games ... Dates worked out 🥳
so made it to the games, meet a bunch of cool peeps, made new friends, and picked up a Phoenix!
Now I need to machine a few parts to make it shoot "not-mayo"

I went to MA, I think… maybe it was RI.. hell, maybe it was far away CT. I think his name was Allen aka RedNBlack or maybe it was BlackNRed… at any rate… I bought my first marker off of him since the early 2000’s and it was an AVI impulse. That led to my first scenario game with his team Mouthy Mimes at Fox4 in Upton, MA. A terrible winter scenario. However, that led to more scenarios with those guys at EMR (back when they actually had numbers), OXCC, and more. I think that team is but a distant memory now, however, every paintball story I have since then, including the inception of Extreme Discharge stems from that marker… so, I’m not sure if it was a killer deal (it would be now, ha!) and I don’t believe it was a crazy far drive, but… that purchase led us here… and by here I mean… trying to win a free Tippmann by rambling about something that may or may not fit the criteria. Anyways,
    I’m in.

After talking with OpusX, I am going to add this cherry on top of this Chameleon Walzmas giveaway. Whoever wins will also receive this, in a separate shipment from me. Like new chameleon Revy. It might be new. I’ve never used it.

      OpusX Right.

When I was in my early 20s I had a bunch of custom work done on a Sheridan to build a pirate with a convertible feed. When I finally got it back it had a pretty bad leak that I couldn't diagnose. Money was tight as I was living in Toronto and I had put close to $500 into it at the time. With it not working I felt pressured to cut my losses, and I sold it at a loss to a member on here.

4 years later, life was better. I had thought about that pirate ever since I sold it, not just because I thought it was cool, but because I had really put a lot of thought into the work I had done. I was living in the country, close to the Featuring Death guys, and I really wanted to get it back and get out and play.

I managed to track down the guy I sold it to. He was no longer active on here, but another member had an email address. I shot him and email, told him flat out that I will pay basically anything to get it back, and waited.

He responded a few days later. This isn't verbatim, but he said, "I couldn't get the leak figured out, and it wound up in a box in my parents basement. If you pay shipping you can just have it back."

And that is how my pirate gun came home.

    I’m in.

Early in my playing days I got into older stuff. At one point (‘06 maybe?) I realized I haven’t tried an Automag yet. An older, local gentleman had one he used as a loaner & I asked if I could borrow it for a bit. After a couple of weeks I asked him how much he wanted for it. Instead of saying a price he gave it to me. The man was an absolute saint in our local paintball community, teaching all the youngsters & just having fun. He is no longer with us, but I feel blessed to have known this man & to have been on the receiving end of one of his many, many good deeds.

    I'm in.

Years ago when I would obsessively search Seattle's Craigslist for old school paintball deals, an awesome PMI-1 with a custom up-angled feed tube extension showed up for a really good price. I immediately messaged the guy and we agreed to meet at his house at 10 AM on Saturday morning.

I show up at the address he gave me at 10 AM and ring the the doorbell, no one answers. I try ringing again, I really want this gun, still no answer. As I start to turn away a 3 year old boy slides open the living room window and calls out to me asking what I want, this is weird. I ask if his parents are home, I was supposed to meet his dad, and I immediately get the feeling that this would look really creepy to any neighbors around. He asked me what I wanted to see his dad about. I say I was supposed to buy a paintball gun from him, he doesn't know what that is. I feel my self-consciousness rising, I'm yelling to a child through his front window on a suburban street early on a Saturday morning that I want to see his dad to buy some kind of gun. I eventually get him to go get his parents, thinking maybe this will still work itself out. Instead of his dad, his mom then comes to the door in a robe rubbing sleep out of her eyes and asks me what I want. This just keeps getting weirder. I explain I had agreed to meet her husband to buy his paintball gun and was he home? Now I feel like a real creep. Maybe this is the wrong house? The guy never gave me his number. English isn't her first language and she doesn't know what a paintball gun is. She won't tell me if her husband is home or not (probably smartly, considering I'm a strange man come calling at an unusual time of day) and I have no idea if I'm even at the right place now. This back and forth continues for a bit but goes nowhere and eventually I just tell her to forget the whole thing and I walk away, it wasn't worth it.

The guy emailed me the next day, asking if I still wanted it. I did, but I never replied. I felt skeeved out over the whole thing. Was a pretty sweet bit of brass though.

Wait these came from the factory like that?

I've been painting them with a chameleon paint for a while, I had no idea it was a factory option

        I’M IN

I finally ponied up the bucks for a Green name because of all that rad color changing magic.

Here's the gear story: I was cleaning out the basement and found all the old gear. I was planning on selling most everything, so I created an account on MCB to get an appraisal on the old gear. In doing that I set up a saved search for paintball gear on my local craigslist to see how gear was selling. I came across a post with crappy pictures of a gear bag full of stuff including an old yellow shoebox Shocker. I posted it up here for someone else to grab, but then a member here posted, mentioning that another member here had been looking for one like it. I figured if someone was going to call dibs on behalf of another stranger, then I could go get the gear on behalf of stranger too. I drove the hour to get the Shocker, sold it to Euphie who had been hunting it, made enough money for my trouble, and then spent that money on new paintball gear.

TL;DR: tried to get out the sport, MCB sucked me in and now here I am with a new (old?) hobby.
Now, I've got my nephew and a few friends into it, and we're back at the fields at least 5 or 6 times a year.

        1. I'm even a greenie (but it's up to $15 now!"

        2. I'm in if I'm not too late.

        3. All my gear quests were gear lust of my youth, always the high end stuff I couldn't ever afford. Now thanks to the scourge of time I have both a good job, and the price of (some of) that formerly top end gear has dropped. I'm sitting next to the '03 Angel Speed I certainly spent plenty of time lusting after. Still on the hypothetical list (to at least be able to oggle in person) is one of the PE Nexus Autocockers they used to advertise could do 40 bps, and one of the original blue XMags

        I’m in

2 different times a Karni got me to quest out of my normal local box.

First one was a forest green color karnivor and it turned out the guy selling it played his only paintball tournament at the event where I played my only paintball tournament 10ish years earlier. Paid him $400 for that back in 2009ish.

Second one was black and yellow karni and required me to drive a couple hundred miles but I got it for $275 a couple years after the first one.
