    A very unique brass giveaway

Walzmas #2. This one's a bit different. I will be making a single shot .50 PGP, FSR capable. Why, you might be asking your screen? Well why the heck not! So I'm not 100% sure when I will have this done yet, but hopefully I can find some extra shop time.

    How to play:

This one's open to everyone. I would like to hear about your best OUTLAW paintball stories. The good ol days of playing in the backyards and such.

Having your own Walzmas giveaway(s) will give you one additional entry. I will put all the entries in a hat and have my daughter pick one, hopefully she doesn't eat the winning ticket again this year. I will pick the winner as soon as the build is complete.

If you unfortunately dont have any outlaw stories, I will accept a picture of your pet being goofy.

Current progress: I have started making the bolt. I did cut all the slots in the barrel, but I'm thinking of sleeving it to 3/4 and making a matching clip on feed tube to go with it.

        Cool!

        Edit for Story....

When I first started playing paintball (‘99/’00), we used to play outlaw in western mass (in the back of Kirvin Park in Pittsfield, MA….for those of you who know the area). It was when there were only a small handful of hiking trails on the other side of Sackett brook, but there was a lot of acreage for us to play on that was mostly manicured woods.

Everything on the far side of the brook was fair game for us….

Anyway, almost every Saturday we would all get together, pack our Spyders, Pirhanas and Tippmans (and my F4) in our backpacks with a few bottles of water and our Co2 tanks, hop on our Mongooses or DiamondBacks BMX bikes and ride from the center of Pittsfield to Dave’s Sporting Goods (probably 4-ish miles) to get out CO2s filled and scrounge for paint. Then we would turn around and ride back to Kirvin Park to play until we ran out of paint or CO2.

We had a few simple rules –
        1. Masks stayed on (I think I had one of those red aluminum barrel plugs, but I think I was the only one, and never used it)
        2. Don’t shoot too hot. If you drew blood from someone (yes, it happened regularly) you turned your marker down.
        3. Vigilante justice. If you took a cheap shot or bonus balled someone (intentionally) you stood at the bridge over the creek and everyone else got a free shot from about 20 feet away. (kept things civilized)
        4. If “civilians” entered the field, you set your marker down (no matter what) stood up, waved and called out “cease fire” until the rest of the players did the same. Once everyone was standing up, you took your mask off and explained what was going on.

One day we were playing and a handful of mountain bikers came through a fire fight spanning the trail. As usual we followed rule number 4. Spoke to the lead biker and he thanked us and let us know there were 25 of them. We counted all 25 pass, looked up the trail, back down the trail, yelled out to the bikers and they said they were clear. When we began playing again, a 26th biker came through and LOST HIS MIND. (We, stood up apologized, explained that we just talked to the lead guy and didn’t realize that there was one more person) Guy proceeded to scream his head off and tell us he was calling the cops on us.

Once he got out of sight, we shrugged it off, and started playing again.

About 10 minutes later, two Pittsfield Police Officers (might have been Sheriffs…I can’t really remember) came over the bridge and walked into the middle of our field. Per usual, we stood up, waved etc. They all call us off the field so we puck up our markers and masks and go into the parking lot.

We go out, the officers asked us a few questions, and we explained what happened. We also told them that we played there every Saturday and this was the first time there was ever a complaint. They were pretty cool about it and, after a 10 or 15 minutes, one of them asked if he could shoot my buddy’s Spyder. My buddy agreed and the officer sent a couple dozen paintballs at a trash can. Then he asked to shoot mine, and so on….at 15 years old, we had a badass story for everyone at school on Monday….
While all this was going on one of the guys we were playing with was standing shoulder to shoulder with the other cop…his marker was dangling at his side…and he was tapping the side of the trigger….and then…PEW!

He shot the cop in the foot point blank Our buttholes immediately puckered and we all dropped our markers. The cop that got shot started yelling at us to “drop them now” and swore a bit, while his partner was doubled over laughing his ass off. After everyone calmed down a bit, we apologized to the officer and he laughed a bit. They let us know they were on duty every Saturday for the next few months, and would come down to the park and sit on the cruiser and watch from the parking lot. We’d walk off after a game and let them send a few rounds into the trashcan. Towards the end of the summer they threw us a few $$ “to cover the paint they wasted on is”

That’s the best outlaw story I have (it was also 25 years ago, so it might now be 100% accurate, but you get this gist.

Similar story here. We played one time in the woods around the neighborhood. Lets just say the report to the police was "people shooting machine guns in the woods"

Hope it runs on 8grams too!

I never played outlaw much - just goofed around at a buddy's house a bit in highschool - and I have no pets currently, so no entries for me.

But very cool build idea... thought about doing one myself at some point but I'll never play with .50 cal. (A Nasty would be interesting.)
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Ok I know I said "but why" but the local field does sell 50cal field paint, so this could be a fun little thing. Time to share some outlaw ball.

In college we didn't really have a place to play nor a lot of cash, so or course we found some local conservation land to play on. Not only that but just for fun we had to snag some of the cheapy Brass Eagle Blades they sold at the lone Walmart in town. They were well worth the $20 at the time.

In the course of play I did manage to get an elimination or two, but that was not what made it epic. During a game I decided I needed to remove my JT visor cause "I didn't need it", boy was I wrong. As we played I had found a neat little hidey hole in the brush, and kept using it, but of course my friend had zeroed in on it over the course of the day.

A buddy was smart and played "dumb" as he approached making me think "oh he has no idea". Well when I popped up to get him he epicly snap shot me from maybe 15 feet, right in the middle of my now totally exposed forehead.

I straight up saw stars, blackout and fell down like a ton of bricks, awaking to my fiend gathered around making sure I was ok. The welt on my forehead was purple and green for a week. We still talk about that game 20 plus years later

In high school we were playing on a power line access road. Gavin had a homemade PVC cannon that could be loaded with about 20 balls for a massive shotgun type blast. He also came up with the great idea that our other buddy, James, with a jeep should drive down the road and everyone would post up and shoot the jeep as he drove by. What for? I couldn't tell ya. There was no gunner in the jeep so it just sounded like a good idea to shoot the jeep as it drove by. I was elected to use the cannon for whatever reason and as soon as James drove away to get his running start Gavin tells us all to aim for the windshield. Well wouldn't ya know as soon as paint starts hitting his windshield he hits the wipers and smears his entire field of view. Then BOOM, cannon peppers the entire front of the jeep and he locks up the breaks and slides off the road and would have rolled down the hill if it hadn't been for a small sapling that stopped him just off the road before he had much momentum. Ironically when we had left James house earlier in the day his dad said, "Don't do anything stupid." Jeep is terribly stuck and we have to walk back to his house to tell his dad we almost rolled his jeep down a hill and we need the tractor to get it back on the road lol. The best and most memorable part of this story was the look on James face as he, in his jeep, began to slowly slide sideways off the road. The look of shock (like how could this of happened, it was such a great idea) and terror. I wish I could describe it better for you all but it was like a slow motion scene from the movies, wide open mouth, one hand on the window, a silent cry for help.
Then hours of digging and trying to free the jeep before finally admitting defeat and getting the tractor. Priceless.

Played outlaw with a group of guys (one who is even a member here) well over a decade ago. They’d play at random places and one guy owned a nut farm and had a large German Shepherd with an affinity for your lunch.

One lovely day we all met up to play at a rock quarry at a largely out of the way location. Has a large loop road and a fair amount of brush and trees. We played some great games such as ambush were a team would set up in advance and the other team would walk the road.

Now I have no idea what specific game we were playing at the time, but myself, my brother-in-law and his brother were going through a wooded trail. I was up front, running a blue and black super stock cocker with a halo, my brother-in-law was walking behind me and his bro trailing man. All of a sudden a guy pops up on a little hill in front of us. I go to shoot, but my hopper has died. Being first in line I am the prime target, so I hit the deck. Buddy on the hill takes aim and fires, too slow to catch me, but catches my brother-law, who thought he had a human shield, until I ducked.

As fate would have it, that shot from above caught my brother-in-law directly in the nut. Apparently a full bullseye. He hit the ground hard, only stated “man down” before crumpling. The guy that shot him starts telling my BIL to get off the field. BIL croaks he can’t walk and will leave once he’s able. Once he regained his composure he left the field and found a private place to check for damage. And the was the end of his day. We still laugh about it. He said he had a big welt and bruising. He’s since had two kids, so is generally fine!

Years later that outlaw group because a club of sorts and had their own field for a while and a custom jersey with a German Shepherd. Managed to snag one not too long ago! I also have a German Shepherd, so double-win.

I also have a few Walzmas giveaways, so put me in twice, please!

A team I was on around 09 had a patch of land with a dilapidated house on it and a yard full of junk bunkers (pallet stacks, appliances, maybe a car?, etc.). On a cool fall day about 6 of us were out there. Normally we’d be blowing up air bunkers and practicing for speedball in the mowed field, but this day they start pulling out some old pumps from a bag and we all played outlaw ball around and inside the house. This was my first introduction and subsequent conversion to pump paintball and I loved it. Gave up speedball shortly after. The whole day was just such a vibe and it remains one of my most nostalgic paintball memories.

I've been playing mainly outlaw my whole life. I live out in the sticks and only make the drive to a public paintball field a couple times a year.
My first time playing was a cold snowy day when I was 7, so snowy infact that we were able to build a small igloo like structure (very rare to get that much snow here in VA.)
. My brother, best friend and I all had brass eagle talons because we were all into the idea of playing paintball, but never had the guts to play. But today was different, maybe it was that crisp magical air you get when it snows... We decided it was the day to play! But how do you play we asked? Everyone shrugged and shortly after my brother said "I know Justin up the road plays paintball maybe he'll come!"
Justin was an older kid, maybe 14 at the time. Lived about a mile up the road, within walking distance. We gave him a call on our landline and he said "sure I'll come play! I'll walk down there, meet me at the end of the road and be ready to play!"
We lived at the very end of the road and this is where we built our igloo like structure earlier. We were waiting around with much anticipation for justin to arrive. I look up to find justin walking down the middle of the road with all his gear on and carrying his brand new smart parts impulse he got for Christmas. Before we get a chance to say hi he starts shooting at us. We were terrified! We looked for places to hide but we are in the open in a cul-de-sac. DJ yells "get in the igloo!" So we scramble to the igloo. We spent the next 5 minutes attempting to hold justin back with our talons and monster balls until he inevitably got us all. It was the most terrifying and exciting thing I had ever done and I was hooked for life. The rest of that day we kept playing in the snow and had a blast until we ran out of co2.

So when I started playing paintball as a kid we played outlaw ball pretty much exclusively. I used to get people together and we'd play at the railroad tracks. There was a tunnel, a river, a bridge, and an old abandoned pump station that was graffitied by edgy country kids. This pump station also had giant openings in the floor that went down twenty-five feet into murky water that was pretty terrifying. Sidenote: we are super lucky no one ever fell into one of those holes and died, but we just never thought about it. We'd play president and "the president" had an old Brass Eagle Talon that you could only load single shot. There were never many volunteers for being the president, so I usually wound up as the commander in chief. The game consisted of one giant team trying to annihilate the president while he was defended by a few loyal bodyguards. The president and said bodyguards would hunker down in the pump station which had pretty great windows and large bullet holes for shooting out from cover. We were in the middle of a game, in the station, paint and splatter flying in from every direction, and I threw a fresh 12 gram in the Talon and loaded up a paintball from the pouch at my side. I crept up to a bullet hole large enough for me to peer through and shoot out of. I saw a kid on the hill behind the station, firing down on us from a significant distance. I took careful aim and with that unmistakable power and grace that can only be achieved by a fresh CO2 cartridge, I hit this kid square in the junk. He went down immediately, his body sliding down the hill. I felt bad, his junk was not my target, but there was still pride in eliminating a threat to my reign as president. That shot will live in infamy.

                  So cool, im in!

When i stated (back in France) Paintball was not a thing ... it was seen as a wired thing crazy people do who want to "play war" do but dont want to get in teh army.
Lets just say the older folks who went through WWII didnt thought it was "fun and games" ...

The plt we were playing (e had approval from the owner) was next to a farm field own and ran by one of those older gentleman. He frequently called the cops saying people were running around with guns shooting at each other ... so much so that the local LOE knew us by names; he was a really nice guy 😎

Well, the old man decided to try to scare us and started to keep a shotgun in his tractor ... one day one of the guest to the core group decided to run around the filed to be funny ...
                  tree things happened:
1- the old man chassed us brandishing a shotgun and shooting up in the air
2- more than 1 underwere were soiled that day
3- that "guest" was never invited to return ever again ...
Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

Somewhere around when I was 13 I was at a buddies house, and his neighbor invited us over to play. They had some cheap stbb and Walmart pump guns like the turbo and talon, running off those disposable 7 oz tanks and 12 grams. We played a few games before his mom got back and flipped a lid, apparently the neighbors saw and called her.
