That's right! Much like your on again off again girlfriend who I'm sure it will work with this time, it's back! Mostly by popular demand. Big thanks to martix_agent and Cdn_Cuda for being willing to put up the prizes. My broke ass literally can't afford to ship anything right now even if I did have a decent prize. What are you fighting to the death over this time? Most of a new player package. Spyder, tank and soft goods, so far.

What is paintball Island? For those of you that were not here for the 2020 walzmas run, I basically put together a D&D inspired event. To be honest it's mostly chance over strategy that chooses the winner but you do have some options in what you do in the game. I'll explain more in the second post here. But basically each "roll" is one week long, you choose your action and I roll the dice to see what the outcome is

So, there are going to be a few important mechanics of the game changes. I realized during the last run that the optimum strategy as the odds were laid out was to defend your position every roll unless you had to search for more paint. But that's just.... Boring. So to spice it up this time every time you decide to defend a position consecutively you will run a +10% chance of being eliminated.

One other change I will be implementing is that every marker will run a chance of breaking at the beginning of each turn. Typically 10% but I may change it depending on the marker you choose. This is two fold, 1) I want to eliminate a few more players so I don't have to write an essay every week and 2) I will also be countering this stat with the ability to find a "repair kit" while searching.

I will also be placing a secret item with the ability to be found while searching (every player can find one, it's not a single item across the whole game) I'm deciding on the odds of finding it though and don't want to give away what it is yet.

Ok. Here's how this works. Each week you will choose an action to take. Options are
1. Attack
2. Defend position
3. Search
4. Return to cargo hold

I then roll a D10 to determine the outcome of that choice. Most of the firefights inflict a -100 paint. A reroll also inflicts another -100

Important rules!

With the exception of the etha 2, the maximum amount of paint you can carry is 1000 and you will start with 700 any time you select a marker

So for those of you who are signed up, I need you to pick your starting marker and the action you want to take on your first roll. Study the charts carefully, I have modified them from last time a bit. Ask any questions. I'm aiming to start the game in a few weeks. Maybe around Thanksgiving.

Here's how I organized the charts, the tippmann 98 is the "standard" stats, everything else is modified from that, a green box is something considered better than the 98, red is worse. Be sure to look at the ability of each marker. In a few cases the odds in the chart are only worse than the 98 but because it has an ability that is something better

If you select the ma-deuce-a you need to set the parameters for when to run away. Examples: any DFF, any firefight when you are below 300 paintballs, any firefight at all because you are a scared little....

Notes: (on the stat sheets just not super obvious) the ion has a 20% chance of breaking, the etha has a 0% chance. Everything else has a 10% chance

You'll also notice each marker has a set of ?? Somewhere. That's the secret item. Obviously it's difficult to get. Typically a search that leads to a DFF and then you have to survive the DFF to get it. In the case of the ma-deuce-a, no running from the DFF and getting a prize. Must roll through it in order to get the prize.
