so I have a brass addiction... twofer

I've found that I just can't stop buying brass... but my loss is your gain! in the spirit of the half dozen pgp's I gave one year, this year I have 2 more pieces to rehome, a nice early p68sc with near perfect ebonal, longer pump handle, and drilled/tapped for rva, and one of my multi-munitions pgp's that came home sans ammo tube (new one will be fabricated & installed before shipping).

for this one I'm looking for paintball related 'no sh*t I was there' stories, with the winners being chosen by the highest 2 like counts. highest gets choice, runner up gets the other. in case of a tie I'll roll a die. shipping conus included, will ask for help elsewhere.

edit: added pictures of a previous iteration of a multi-munitions pgp to illustrate how it works (designed to easily swap from roundball to first strike)

edit pt.2: final tally on 12/18

Dang that stock class one looks perfect. I’ll add my story when I can sit down and type it out on the computer instead of my phone.

Alright I'll kick this off with a spicy one. Copied and pasted from another thread a while back

This is the story of how Miley Cyrus assisted the German army to secure victory in operation Michael Jackson

      Ok d day, 2015

(This first part is mostly background for people who don't know what that game is like)

It's HOT, 105° or thereabouts through the whole week by mid day so because of that the games are typically run in the morning and wrap up by noon or 1. This leaves a large part of the day to hang out in camp and chill. But because the event is so long (6 days) you are left trying to strategize. Each team runs radio towers and a dedicated radio shack that is full of radios. Idk if it was true but I heard there was more radio traffic during the d day game than there is when the US military takes over a city. It's a lot, each team is making their own transmissions, listening to the other team and sometimes making fake transmissions. So if you can mess with the other team by causing them to waste time on the radio, that's a small win. Wasted time on the radio means they may miss some important radio chatter.

But what could we do on the field that would get them talking on the radios about our shenanigans? I think someone mentioned "let's build a fake tank" but we only had 2 days left so that was out but got someone else thinking. What about fake people? Mannequins? Well as a shock to nobody, there's no mannequins R us in small town Oklahoma. But what you can get on short notice is.... We'll just call them "inflatable people".

Yes ok, we used blow up dolls in a paintball game. The look on their faces said they were very surprised to be in a paintball game as well. All females of course and because it was a family event we did have to dress them. Trusty duct tape gave them tube tops and skirts. Somewhere along the way we named this whole plan "Operation Michael Jackson" I think because we were trying to be smooth criminals or something. It was hot, our brains were melted give me a break

One of the girls got named Miley Cyrus, she was found to be sleeping "next to" one of the guys in our little section of camp in the RV. For the most part we wanted to keep the girls out of sight.

Saturday, D day comes and at least 2 of the girls make it out to the field. Our friend Miley makes it into the church building to the 2nd floor where she is posted up in a window.

From here I wasn't sure what happened other than I heard one of our guys, Tank, was hiding behind Miley at some point and using her as cover. Miley was taking an absolute pounding (dun dun tss) taking pod after pod of allies balls, mainly to the face

So the game goes on, 8 hours and I don't hear much, kind of forget about them. We get back to camp and I see our radio shack guy and remember we had sent the girls out. He sees our group and gets the biggest shit eating grin on his face. Of course he has been listening to the allies transmissions all day and we all ask what he knows. He says "guys you are not going to believe this. Apparently not only did the allies find the dolls and were talking about them on the radio, a small group of them got ahold of one, took it to a ref and tried to turn it in thinking it might be a secret objective. Naturally it wasn't but not only did they not get points for it, the refs actually penalized them for basically wasting the refs time"

Gather round for the final score presentation. I don't remember what the exact totals were but they were in the thousands. A close game is decided by a few hundred points each way, 2015 was the closest game ever at that point and was decided by 5 points if memory is correct.

So I don't know what penalty the refs gave that group of allies, but if it's 5 or more points, our messing around and having fun trying to screw with the other team literally won us that game.

      Good times

I was there mate. I have been going to Oklahoma D-Day since 2006. Only missed a couple of year. That was such a fun event before the event staff's hearts weren't in it anymore.

Well let’s see , at a stock class Renegade game that capitalpaintball put on couple years back myself and AnarchicArctic were sitting down after the game as we prepared to have a BBQ and what happened next is a true No S&*T moment as Jonnydread takes a seat opposite us in all his kilted glory minus the underwear he so questionably forgot. Yup we had ourselves a true basic instinct moment. Left us pleasantly scared for life.

I would so rock these long boi pistols! I've been waiting on buying some 80s brass for a long time. I miss playing pump too and need something that will get me in a stock class event. .

I was at and played in one of the largest scenario games in history. I was only 12 years old, had only been playing for 8 months, and I was running my first gun I ever bought, a Freak Green GOG Extcy (Valken Vmax hopper, 68/4500, dye I4, Dye neck protector, and Empire Jersey and pants were my first loadout, can't remember my podpack but I did have clear Dye Locklids). Had a bag of 6 BT M8 paint grenades I had just bought stolen from me at our respawn base. Had to spend the rest of my money buying another bag of them, instead of a shirt like my mom wanted me to get. Worth it! It was such a fun time. Better times then.

I got a $50 coupon for TechT's website when they were tossing stuff to the crowd. Bought a L7 bolt for my Extcy. I ended up getting a brand new DLX Luxe 2.0 after it was all over. Only I did not get to shoot it for a whole year! Dad only bought it to resell so he could get the CPX black card (lifetime VIP membership) that came with it. $60 Marbalizer cases instead of $90, free entry and air, and 3 free rentals with entry air. Only, like me, he only ever got low ball offers and ended up just giving it to me for free one day in frustration. XD .

CPX is gone, and I sold the Luxe years ago, but I still got my black card and my Extcy.

Here is my no sh*t story, I was there mate. I remember it just like it was last week. one of the highlights of my paintball career.

Ok D-Day 12 or 13 , The Commonwealth like usual was tasked with taking and holding Sword beach and the area of the south including the city of Caen. This year was coming of the pervious year of a slog fest that was holding Caen against the entire German army. That year the 3rd Infantry Division received the only Unit Citation award ever issued for our efforts, but I digress.

It was a cool crisp morning in June as we dawned our vest and hydration packs, grabbed our spare gear, and markers. Lining up in 2 columns we marched out to the field 30 mins prior to the ramps dropping. There was about 60 of us making our way through Caen towards Sword. Sweat was already starting to dip down our brows even in the coolness of the early summer morning air. We saw all the Germans already set up in their fighting positions. Ready for a great day of battle. We had great respect for our foes as they did towards us. After all we were playing a game we loved, however this year we were out for blood. This year we had a mission to take the beach and Caen in record time.

10 mins till game on and we start to load the boats. And in true CEF fashion one of our player is in the dead zone warming up his bagpipes. The count down begins 5 mins till game on, 3 mins till game on. Smoke grenades were handed out to all landing craft. One min 30. Our piper is full on warming his pipes up like Bill Millin about to storm the real Sword with Lord Lovat. 30 seconds till the ramps drop. Highland laddie starts to blast through that hallow as the ramps drop into a maelstrom of fire. In the next 10 seconds the amount of smoke grenades that were thrown was enough to put the fog in London to shame. You couldn’t see anything in that thick cloud. All you could hear was the sound of fury, CEF yelling to advance while the Germans yelled for support. The sound of armor rolling up the beach to give supporting fire to the infantry as we advanced from bunker to bunker.

While all of this chaos is going on, someone yells fire then another yells fire, It was at that moment that we realized that the smoke was not just from the smoke grenades. One of the grenades lit some of the brush in front of a Styrofoam bunker on fire, in turn sending the whole thing ablaze. A couple of our firefighting members tended to the blaze as we pressed towards the flag. Pushing through the literal Fire and Flames we carried on taking the last flag point on the beach at the 12-minute mark. Setting the record for the fastest that beach every fell. The city of Caen was taken shortly thereafter at the 30-minute mark. It was a glorious sight to behold. HUZZAH!

            Forgot to put in a story! Here ya go - 2 stories in one game;

Wayne Dollack's 24 hour game back in the mid 90's "Battle of Khe Sanh"

My team had been recruited to play on the Vietnamese side with our team and another team from Alabama being a 20 man Viet-Cong element. All game long we had been doing guerilla warfare against the Americans. Boobytrapping towns with grenade simulators to disrupt gaining points earned holding them, ambushing helicopter insertions, and putting a few of our stealthy guys on sniper duty near the re-entry point. Basically the type of things you see on normal scenario games. We weren't gaining a lot of points for the first 12 hours and the Americans had probably double the points we had.

Our general had told our team to go disrupt and antagonize the Americans around midnight. We suited up in black BDU's, night vision goggles and laser pointers on a mix of Mags, Cockers and me with my 68 Special. The 68 Special had a modification done for the big game - i added a potato gun to the bottom of it from a vertical grip off the barrel and a wedge put into the M-16 grip. Heavy, impressive to behold and would launch 100 paintballs around 300 feet(or more if angled like artillery.) It utilized hairspray for the fuel, so when the ref asked me to chrono it i went easy and had a 246fps shot come over the radar. (This is important later....)

Anyways we set off, the guys who had night vision leading the way, the rest of us stumbling along in the dark. As we got closer to the main base we found a group of Americans coming our way to do probably the same thing to our base. We set up a hasty ambush line and told everyone that the potato gun would be the signal to open fire. I readied the launcher with a quick shot of hairspray and loaded paint into it. My teammate with night vision directed me where to aim it and i waited for him to tap me on the shoulder. And waited, and waited. Seems the American team had heard us and stopped their approach about 150' away. After a few minutes, i got the idea to put another shot of hairspray into the gun, figuring the initial charge had probably dissipated and wouldn't ignite when i needed it to.

After quickly getting back into position and aimed the right way again, the Americans were on the move and headed directly for us. I waited for the tap in the dark, hearing them get closer and closer but not knowing where they were in the dark. [TAP] i hit the igniter and a gigantic fireball comes out of the potato launcher sending paint downrange (at god knows what speed) and i hear and see all of our guns rocking and little red lasers dancing around in the dark. Tons of screams of "Hit!" "What the fuck was that?!?!" and "Stop shooting!" came from the Americans. Our team hightailed it out of there and came back to our base for more ammo.

The next morning, we were informed that one of those guys had been hit with about 50 paintballs at once, with the rest missing him and hitting 4 others. Evidently i had a bounty on my head for the rest of the game. LOL

2nd part of the same scenario game
Around 8 am on Sunday morning. We had just come in from a mission and found 2 guys from our other squad(Alabama boys) loading their stuff up, taking off the camo and being pissed off at the other team. "The Americans are wiping hits and playing on because their pissed off" "We're sick of this crap and going home. I didn't drive 6 hours to get overshot by some assholes" We tried to convince them to stay, but they were adamant about leaving so we refilled our paint, air and headed back onto the field. Bummed out that the game had soured their attitude enough to call it quits, but we understood.

We came back to refill once more before the big battle at 11am to find the same two Alabama guys, laughing and each having a couple of hits on their white T-shirts. Confused to say the least, we then heard how the anger was all an act to make it more believable to the other American players nearby in staging. They had made fake PRESS badges and walked into the American side of the field saying they were Stars and Stripes reporters and conducting interviews with guys they passed along the way. One of them had a microphone, the other carried a VHS videocamera, They only wore goggles, (no face shields) to give it an authentic reporter kind of vibe.

It went over well enough that they were able to get into the American base, pat searched and taken to the US general and then conduct an interview with him. Once inside the big communication bunker they opened the video camera tape slot and showed a paint grenade to the Ref inside the bunker. The Ref was like "Don't you dare drop that right now and ruin the radios" and "everyone in here has been eliminated" As they walked out with the dead American General and a few of the other key leaders, one of the other American Sgt's outside the bunker popped a couple of rounds on each of the reporters for good measure. They didn't care though, they had just taken out the American General and secured our team 1 million points, and giving our team the win.

Don't know of it ever being done again, but damn that was hilarious to hear about and what a way to win from behind.

I've got 3 cousins who are birth siblings and were adopted by my aunt and uncle 40-some odd years ago. The oldest boy was maybe 6 at the time and the two younger sisters were maybe 3 and 4.

They had just moved in and my aunt and uncle wanted to introduce them to some kids in the neighborhood from the Cook family down the street, so they set up a dinner date on the calendar.

The oldest is just learning how to read and is the newest to the house. So he gets his sisters to pack their toys and they get caught trying to sneak out of the house.

My aunt, who at this point is still a strange old lady these kids just moved in with, asks them why they're leaving, and the oldest asks her "Why does the calendar say 'Cook kids for dinner'?".

I can't imagine the fear 6 year old me would have felt if my new mom had that written on her calendar...

Back when SC Village rented out PGPs and sold red paint my friends and I found ourselves on the right side of the OLD Vietnam field under a canopy of trees and a brushy clearing. We were leaning against a bunker at the edge of the main clearing, realizing no one went this way! My friend quietly exclaims, "hey if we run, we can loop behind and shoot them in the back!" He takes off running, and I follow! We start jumping over logs, rock, and brush, the terrain was uneven and lots of ground cover made it difficult to navigate. He was ahead of me about 10 paces, when my toe caught a log under some grass, I timber flat to the ground discharging my PGP which shoots him bullseye in the butt with the red paint - the perfect shot. He yelped out in pain and instead of getting mad, yelled in butthead's voice "damnit Beavis you shot me in my bunghole!" our teenage-selves were having the best laugh.
