    Help fix my suitcase?

Not sure if this is the best place place to post, so bear with me.

I’m on the road quite a bit for work and pleasure and have a beloved suitcase. This thing has done many miles with me (300k+). This past week the bearings in the wheels gave out, more like seized up. So, it’s time for a rebuild.

I have new bearings that work really well. Happy with that. Now I need spacers (2x of same part) for it to work properly. Anyone with a small lathe and some ABS, delrin, or nylon want to take a jab at it? Final dimensions don’t need to be perfect, so it’s a great opportunity to learn.

I’ll throw together a drawing and post them here tomorrow.

McMaster has precut spacers, and even some hardware stores might. But yeah... we got some crazies with lathes around here too.

What kind of bearings did you get? I really like bearings...

The spacers are kinda unique. I have zero tools. They need to be 6.2mm ID, 12.5mm OD, 13mm long with a step down at the end.

I, too, love bearings. I wish I could find nice bearings but these have to be 6x22x7mm bearings, a weird size. If you can find decent ones for a reasonable price (this is a suitcase after all), let me know.

636 is your ISO size... 636-ZZ to keep the grease in.
Misumi has them but for $9 ea. You probably just need Amazon quality, 10 for $9.

I don't suppose something like this with a skateboard bearing would work? https://www.flightattendantshop.com/...pacers-4-pack/
A skateboard bearing is 8 x 22 x 7 and that spacer is designed to shrink the id to 6. Full disclosure I have not used it and have no idea on the safety of the website or anything else it was just the first likely google result.

I'm not the best on a lathe, but if you want to shoot me a print I might be able to find something. Not sure if I have any nylon, though, and I know PVC is sticky and stringy... might be aluminum if I make 'em unless you want to send over a bar of acetal.
