"...He played it left hand
But made it too far
Became the special man
Then we were Ziggy's band"
I used to sing a lot of Bowie to my daughter as lullabies when she was an infant and toddler. She never asks me to sing to her anymore (sadly), but now that she's old enough to catch on to some of the lyrics that's probably for the better. I didn't sing Ziggy Stardust that much, more often Life on Mars?, Starman, and The Man Who Sold the World.
It was a travesty and an outrage when the first song beamed back to Earth from Mars was some one-off garbage written by Will.I.Am. What idiot at NASA authorized that? Clearly it should have been "Life on Mars?" I sincerely hope that when the first astronaut sets foot on Mars, what the world hears is "It's a godawful small affair, to the girl with the mousy hair..."
The Automag: Not as clumsy or random as an electro. An elegant marker for a more civilised age.
