I think that lending to a friend kinda follows the same rules as investing. Don’t use any money that you can’t live without.

For anyone else reading this: if you lend a significant amount of money, then you should draft a loan agreement and have it signed and notarized. If the person is in dire need, and intends to pay it back, then that shouldn’t be a problem. In case of a situation where the person fails to live up to the terms, then you have small claims court as recourse.
To OP: if you used any sort of electronic payment method and can find the records along with any communication proving that it was a loan and not a gift, then you could still have legal recourse. Otherwise, I would be careful taking any kind of retaliatory measure, or involving any other people in your ****.

It's only $50 but at this point it's not about the money nor do I even care about getting it back.... Just want to ruin his reputation and make sure he doesn't do this to anyone else. As for this being the first post like this on MCB.....it's not, I was able to have MCB help me get my PPS Squall from deadbeat several years ago, ended getting the kid Mom's number thanks to someone here and the issue was resolved in a week. Someone on here was looking for items owed a while back from a now long since banned name,I helped them by showing up and the guy's house.Last edited by Chaos; Yesterday, 10:53 PM.

While I find the lack of details on the original post makes this cringey, I don’t think the dollar amount gives someone a pass. Bad people (people who rip off people) deserve bad things (threads made about them on a paintball forum?) regardless of dollar amount. It’s a principle thing.
Still, not sure I’d personally call in the calvary over the dollar amount, but that’s a personal decision.
I will add, when I was fighting to get my money from PPS, I ended up having to go this route and someone did send me a personal cell phone number to contact, which inevitably led to my refund. In fairness though, that really was just about the money. Lol..

I can see Riot’s point, and I’d add if somebody rips off somebody for $50 and is successful, then what’s to stop them from doing it again and again with potentially greater stakes?
With that said, this also seems like the kind of thing that unnecessarily puts yourself at increased risk of a significant altercation, for a pretty low value return. I don’t care about $50 that much to put myself in that situation.
