I am on a Dean koontz kick, I just picked up about 15 of his books. Then I have 10 Stephen king books to hit.
I enjoyed the Expanse series in scifi, now on Amazon prime. Will have to read the books.

This week, I jumped ALL the way into The Expanse. I had read book 1 a few years ago, and just reread it, and damn I had forgotten how good it is. Now well into book 2. The 9th and final book comes out this fall. Plenty of time to get caught up.

James Joyce's "Ulysses". I've had this book for a decade and I'm finally making the time to read it. I'm very early into it so no comments as of yet.

I just finished "Lost in Shangri-La" by Mitchell Zuckoff. Another plane crash story during WW2. I really like the way he tells stories. I'd recommend this one as well to people who like military, history, or adventure books.

I just finished the Icewind Dale trilogy again, absolutely on a R A Salvatore kick after I found out he lives across town from me.
Up Next is RA Salvatore's non cannon star wars entry with Vector Prime

Update on the wild trees - it was about as good as a book about big trees can be.

Just finished “the heroin diaries” by Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue. Pretty awesome, very candid look at his life. He started keeping a diary randomly while super famous and on/off of heroin. You can tell there was never any intention to publish it when it was written, but he did (with commentary from people in his life at the time) a few years ago. Might not be for everyone, and he gets a little preachy in his intro/closing words, but I really liked it.
got halfway through “Hamilton” as my car ride audio book before the loan expired. Maybe I’ll re borrow, but man that was a detailed history class.

I finished the first book in the Mistborn series yesterday and now I’m on to the second. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys reading stories with a rich backstory and an immersive world.

I finished Frozen In Time by Mitchell Zuckoff. It was an excellent book and worth reading. If you are into history or military history check it out.

A few weeks ago I finished American Buffalo by Steven Rinella. I liked the mix of hunting story and history.
I just finished The Revenant. The book was way better than the movie. His journey from when he was left to when he finally found Fitzgerald was way more exciting and interesting in the book. I get that they wanted the dramatic vengeance ending of Hugh killing Fitzgerald and they could’ve kept that and had by having him die after being shot in the court room.

"Godel, Escher, Bach: an eternal golden braid" by Douglas R. Hofstadter.
Basically recursive axiomatic systems. What Escher portrayed visually (two hands each drawing the other) is similar to what Bach did musically with crab canons (which can be played the same forward & backward) and what Kurt Godel did with thinking about thought.
Also re-reading "Imaginary Magnitudes" by Stanislaw Lem. A Polish author often listed as sci-fi but much like H.G. Wells, more of a social commentator in the guise of fiction.
