South Coast by Nathan Lowell (new series 1st book)
Otto doesn't want it. He wants to be a fisherman. When company policies force unwelcome changes onto his life and threaten even the security of the village, Otto discovers that being a shaman isn't optional.
Jimmy Pirano is caught between the devil and the deep green sea when new production quotas are handed down from corporate headquarters. Locked into a century of existing practice, Jimmy is forced to find new ways to fish and new places to do it in or face the very real possibility that Pirano Fisheries will lose the St. Cloud franchise.
Join Otto, Richard, and Rachel Krugg as they struggle with what it means to be the son of a shaman. Cast off with Jimmy, Tony, and Casey as they navigate the shoals and shallows of corporate fishery along the South Coast.

Jaws, the book was good, the movie was good, recommend both.
homage to Catalonia - if you’re only gonna read one Spanish civil war book, make it For Whom the Bell Tolls, but if you’ve got time for two include homage to Catalonia. Both highlight how much of an unorganized clusterfuck that war was.
kitchen confidential - very interesting look at chef/restaurant management and the lifestyle that it becomes.
currently reading 100 years of solitude and gangsters of capitalism both are good.

Just finished A Sinister Splendor. It follows Taylor and Grant and others through the Mexican-American war. Written similarly to Gods and Generals.
About halfway through The Storm Before the Storm. About events leading up to the fall of the Roman Republic and paving the way to the Roman Empire.
Picked up and waiting to continue Let My People Go Surfing: The Education of a Reluctant Businessman. About the development of outdoor company Patagonia.
Wife dropped Dark Matter in front of me after she finished it. That is going to have to wait for a minute.

The expanse, again
Listening on audiobooks really but they really have some good replayability. A lot of stuff didn't make sense the first time through but really comes into focus with a second read
