So I actually had a related issue, ,my wifi went out yesterday wasn’t even visible, but I had internet on hardwire to TV. I plugged in direct to router and was getting a update firmware message, I did the steps and poof back to good.

Ok, so I found a new "scanner" app that gives more information. I am seeing a huge bell curve of signal that is as strong or stronger than my own signal from channel 3 down below to "-2". It is my understanding that low bands start getting into Bluetooth range?
I have "three" networks I can account for. My 2.4, my 5, and the Xfinity "hotspot" bands that the service router has for others to use. Exactly on top of my previous bands (even set on Automatic) are a couple of hidden SSID networks, and one of them which I am pretty sure is my neighbor, as it's named. The Hidden networks are showing as being 1m from my own network.
EDIT - I changed channels. one of the hidden networks followed. Could that actually be the system remote for something?
In my connected devices it's not uncommon to see a couple of my remotes. The one for the TV and the one for the FireStick use WiFi, I think....

Channels could be the issue. However, are you using the 5mhz or the 2.4? 5 is quicker than 2.4 but has a shorter range. So be sure you are trying to get the distance on the 2.4 network. Maybe your wifi router got updated and it is buggy. Just some things to look at.-------------

Maybe the antenna on your router has failed or is failing. You might want to call comcast and have them check it.-------------

After you have been connected at the same point for a while it will require the device to check in at the service address before you can connect to the hotspots again. So far as I am aware and considering the distance from my home to most of the others I am the only one who has ever connected to it. My wired internet speed and such are fine. WiFi speed is fine, but range for it and wireless dongle devices are not.
