    Resident Evil: T Virus Discussion

Hey MCB, I have a question regarding the T Virus. I was reading a preview on the upcoming RE 8 game (Village) on thegamer.com website, and I saw an article that read Resident Evil: 10 Things That Made No Sense About The T-Virus and as point #10 they have: "It Doesn't Resurrect Corpses" Does this sound right? I always thought that if infected with the virus, immediate cellular breakdown within the body occurs, resulting in death, subsequent reanimation and an unquenchable hunger for flesh. Classic zombie lore in that regard.

    Thanks for reading.

    Best regards,

    TMG

I don't specifically recall a case of an already-dead body becoming reanimated via the T-virus. I think the symptoms of the virus eventually render the host unconscious at which point the T-virus takes control over the body's CNS and blocks everything except for 'consume'. Keep in mind that the T-virus behaves differently than the G and other associated viruses and plagas and so on. I remember in the remake of RE1 there's a graveyard outside, but IIRC only crows attack you while out there. I'll have to think on this more. I love classic Resident Evil, but I started to lose interest around RE5 due to the increased focus on action rather than survival horror.

Me neither but in the Wiki Fandom, it specifies in several places that both the original Pregenitor virus as well as the strains developed by UC had the ability to reanimate. And they base everything on actual cannon / sources . But yeah, I'd have to look closer into it. I dont think that article has it right.

Yeah i don’t specifically recall the virus infecting someone who was already dead. Seems like whoever the virus infected turned into zombies but not necessarily reanimated corpses. I haven’t played the first 3-4 games in a long time so i could be completely wrong.

You know the scariest part of the outbreak to me is how the drinking water supply gets contaminated. Yes, fighting the bigger more powerful bio weapons like G's, tyrants and hunters or any of the mutated animals/organisms is in and of itself highly deadly -- but you can still kill em given that you have some military-grade heavy weapons. But I find the water supply contamination particularly scary...lol
