Picked up a gaming laptop with all the RGBs. Just finished the Shadow of the Tomb Raider demo which was a lot of fun and a good test for the PC. I fell a handful of times in various spots during the flood scene and was impaled on a spike every time. Why so many spikes 🤔

I paid nearly nothing for this game and later it was (and might still be) free. It is super fun and looks great to boot. My only issue is that occasionally I have to cheat and go online to figure out how to solve the puzzle at hand.

I picked up Pokémon Legends Arceus. This game is a ton of fun. It really changes the formula & makes it a good single-player experience. There’s no multiplayer or metagame at all, actually.

But it is not the most visually/graphically impressive experience. Lots of pop-in, no anti-aliasing that I can see, and lighting effects & reflections are janky. But the things they added/changed & the new formula that came of those changes has me really hooked.

Overall, it’s a great new experience that does a good job of putting forth new & refreshing ideas, however flawed the overall game may be. If a new spin on the Pokémon formula is what you want then this game is excellent. It’s definitely a game to play for the gameplay & not for the visual achievements.

Even then, though, the environments are still vast & interesting. The immediate environments around you still look good & the visual things they added to battling are pretty neat. The free camera & your own personal free movement mid-battle is quite fun to experience IMO.

EDIT: Maybe I should just post a review in the Revews It section, lol. I’ll try & do one sometime.

Been playing through The Last of Us again. Dang, that’s a well made game. Also Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, Civ6 sometimes. I’m in a play test program for a forthcoming game, but I can’t talk about the details 🙃

If you enjoyed any of Naughty Dog’s other games (like the Uncharted series) you’ll love it. Deep character development, excellent storytelling, beautiful graphics and animation, and tight gameplay.

I loved TLOU. The first scene had me in tears and the gameplay hooked me instantly.

Half Life was mentioned earlier... So I'm replaying Half-Life
(HL, Opposing Forces, HL Blue Shift, HL2, Ep1, Ep2, Lost Coast)

The Nastalgia is great. The Games while very dated play so well. Honestly all the puzzles are engaging and kind of a breath of fresh air from all the run to objective status quo. You still run to the next area, but hey, you need to think a little to get there. It's also nice to play the literal technical advances being made at the time. Each game offered something new.

Yes I had it when it was still just a mod. It was good, but they hadn't added Zen, not sure if they have it now.

I agree. I also wanna see if the druid buffs help an elemental.

But yeah Barbs did seem to get the short stick. Though I kinda wanna shift my bard build to a mf horker as party support vs the concentrate barb I have now.

Druids are fun. So many things you can do with them. Tornado/Hurricane was my favorite. So much crowd control.

They only solo Hell-viable Barb I've ever seen was a WW Barb. And that was one of the more gear-dependent builds I've seen.

My favorite was the Frenzy Barb. But I could only do co-op (Hell difficulty) with it because no AoE. My DPS was through the roof, though. "OK, boss fight time!" :watch the health bar drop like a rock:

I've never play D2 until this re-release and I'm scared to screw around with changing talents. Seems like you can only do it a few times, unless you grind for hours. Druid has been fun, but I think I'm playing it "wrong" because I built mine for playing with a friend as a support class.

I tried Crysis Remastered recently. Kind of a fun game - a balance between stealth and FPS. The weapon modification system is pretty slick! I hear the 2nd and 3rd installments were better, and I’m looking forward to play those since the three remastered games came in a bundle.

Been playing through the Convergence mod for Dark Souls 3 while waiting for Elden Ring later this month, and it's been a lot of fun. All the weapons, spells, and bosses that the mod adds are pretty awesome, and it's been really cool having a more fresh feeling playthrough again.

Also been scratching the fps itch with Apex and the Northstar servers for Titanfall 2.

Elden Ring is definitely on my must-play list. Look into Total War Warhammer III. It’s an RTS but dont let that turn you off if youre into sword & magic rpgs. It’s an amazing game

Is anyone playing HALO infinite? I really like the campaign, even though I've not played since HALO 3. However, I suspect that starting on Heroic difficulty was a mistake. I have forgotten how hard HALO can be.

You need exactly 2 weapons- a plasma pistol & a precision weapon.
Though I haven’t played Infinite. Not sure what they changed from 4 & 5.

I just picked up Hollow Knight a little while ago. I’m way late to it. I’ve wanted to play it for quite a while but just never got around to it until now. Same with Dead Cells & Axiom Verge. Awesome games (though i admit that I’m not entirely sure what I’m supposed to be working towards in Dead Cells) that i should have played years ago. I’m hoping they spent the extra time with the Switch version of the GTA trilogy fixing some of the issues. If so then I’ll probably pick it up later this week when it comes out.

I want to mention a simple little game that was suggested to me a few days ago. It is pure crack and the best $3 I have ever spent.

Vampire Survivors on Steam. It is amazingly rough looking, but immensely easy to play, very enjoyable. You move. That's it. Avoid being eaten up while your passive offense and defense does what it does. The upgrade path is sort of like rolling dice. Each game tends to be quite different since you can't specifically pick what is going to drop (as it were).

Be like Mikey and try it.

I’ll finally be able to game next week after a 1+ year hiatus.

I plan to tackle the shorter single player games first, namely Resident Evil 8 and Elden Ring before diving into Total War: Warhammer III. I put 500 hours into Warhammer II so that’s why I’m leaving it for last, and the third installment introduces multiplayer.

I think the Total War Warhammer fantasy series are extremely underrated. This was my first RTS, and as a fantasy, sword & magic RPG fan, I can’t recommend it enough. The second installment is an amazing game.

I got a group of friends to play Barotrauma, and that is a really fun but semi terrifying experience. So far running the gunnery department in our ship has been my tasks, most recently we sunk a pirate sub which landed on top of us, long story short I ended up getting crushed between our sub and a rock when somebody didn't open the airlock. Good game.
