Monochat Headsets

Hello all.

Who makes a good monochat headset? It would need to fit a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. I’m looking for a better one for gaming/chat purposes, but I don’t want a stereo headset. I much prefer to keep one ear open.

I assume bluetooth isnt an option?

No. I'd be using it mainly with my Xbox & maybe with my cell phone. I probably wouldn't go bluetooth in any case- I prefer to hardwire as much as I can.

I would look at the Jabra line of products. Commonly used in call centers so make for long wear times and they are not very expensive. When I was still in the office it is the brand of monaural headset that I used for conference calls. They make basic 3.5mm audio/mic versions as well as Bluetooth. Plantronics, Shure and Sennheiser are other common quality Mfg. of monaural headsets. You will need to figure out if you want in-ear, on-ear, around-ear and if you want a headband or not. I like headband with around ear and boom mic style for comfort over time. For gaming I use binaural around the ear headset with boom mic.
