PS5 anyone?

Anyone looking to pick up a PS5? I haven’t picked up a PlayStation since the PS2 but the new Horizon game and, more importantly, the Demon’s Souls remake have me seriously thinking about it. I’m also kinda wanting to change it up from my usual Xbox games & get back into some quality single player games. Not that the Xbox doesn’t have those. I’m just wanting to change things up.

I’ll likely wait until hardware reviews start showing up, but it looks super good.

I love Horizon on my PS4 Pro. No idea on performance yet but usually the second iteration or a Pro model is a good strategy to wait for consoles. They are doing new things with the PS5

This is a very good point. Though I have had good luck with my first gen consoles... My Switch has been great, my Xbox 360 is from after the first internal hardware revision but still from the first white cases, and I've been playing my fat PS2 the last couple weeks. Hmm...

Personally, I'm torn. I'm a huge fan of From Software and Demon's Souls definitely has my attention. On the other hand, That's one of the few games on that platform that's even on my radar. On the other hand, I'm already heavily invested in the Xbox platform with physical and digital copies dating back to the original Xbox. With the auto HDR, resolution increases, and framerate upgrades for backwards compatible games I still play or intend on revisiting, it makes the Series X a more tempting option for me. The notion of playing games like the Dark Souls trilogy on Series X with enhanced visuals is pretty enticing. I just wish they'd get Otogi (another From Software masterpiece) from the OG Xbox working.

I'm heavily invested in the Xbox platform as well, but I've got no issue being a fair weather fan. I really enjoyed my PS2 when I played it regularly and Halo Infinite is the only thing on the Xbox that has my attention. And I can just pick that up for the Xbox One.

I'm all for playing DkS, but I've shifted to the Switch for that. I've never played Demon's Souls and, other than cost, I can't think of any reason to pick up a PS3 to play that one game. If I'm going to play it I'm going to future-proof my self a bit in the process. I hear ya on the Series X though. They've done a bang-up job with back compat. I've had issues with their customer service though, and I'm not keen on the prospect of handing them my hard-earned cash.
