I’m going on gameplay videos and twitch streams. Haven’t played myself.
I mean I’m sure it’s great, it’s just less sci fi and more generic than I expected.

Watch out for "Life During Wartime", it's a main quest and part of it appears to be broken. Myself and another friend have game breaking glitches that we can not progress and they apparently just hotfixed it earlier today. Looks like my game is coming to a grinding halt.
@mag, don't have a controller to just leave plugged in and pick up? I mean I don't think taking your hands off the M+KB to pick up a controller is all that much work, but to each is own.

Looking forward to playing Cyberpunk. TBH I'm going to hold off until I rebuild my computer with a new GPU and CPU and a good high refresh 1440 monitor to get the full experience. The graphics are supposed to be the selling point it seems like with everything else taking back seat.

I don't know what game you were watching, cuz it definitely has that Blade Runner/Altered Carbon/Ghost in the Shell cyberpunk vibe. I think the main problem is that a lot of the game takes place during the day. The city is crowded, dirty and grimy, there's rain, neon, body mods. It's true that the cars aren't particularly crazy (all very 80s), but there are some flying ones.
Anyway, I spent the last 9 or so hours playing it, and barely feel like I've scratched the surface. A few thoughts so far:
-enemy hit boxes are tiny. Maybe I'm too used to competitive PvP shooters like Halo or Destiny but it takes a lot more work to actually hit someone
-driving is horrendous. Not expecting Forza, but dang it's real bad.
-character creation is not as deep as I would have liked. I can tweak eyes, ears, jaw, but not forehead?
-hacking is clunky, so I'm kind of avoiding it
-walking down the street, I saw 3 identical NPCs within a 2 minute span. I know it's hard to generate so many NPCs, but it did break the immersion.
-the map is HUGE, but not a lot of it is interactive. It's closer to Mass Effect than Elder Scrolls.
-combat music is repetitive and lacks energy. DOOM 2016, it is not.
I have encountered a number of bugs, but so far just little animation bugs. Inactive NPCs T-posing every so often (indoor spaces only so far) held items getting messed up (hard to explain). Nothing game breaking, but I'm on PC not console. There does appear to be some inconsistencies with the Ui, that's kind of hard to explain. Some menus or settings options don't seem to exist on PC like they do on console.
Criticisms aside, I'm definitely enjoying it. Combat can be really fun, but you'll spend much more time in noncombat scenarios. Some might see that as a negative, I do not. The story is pretty crazy so far. Lots of drama and spectacle. There are very personal moments as well. Graphics are solid though not next level. By and large, I think it does a great job in delivering the classic cyberpunk vibe, both thematically and visually. It definitely needs to be patched, not that you needed me to tell you that. But it's a fun game. I haven't spent this much time on a video game in a loooong time. Homework this weekend is going to be a struggle haha.

I'm disappointed in that I expected more Dredd/Bladerunner inspiration (I dunno, flying cars and megabuildings etc). The world they've created just seems ... normal, besides the body mods and some of the abilities. Gunplay seems very generic too.
It might be that I just got old, but also I suspect it's because we practically live in what would have been considered a cyberpunk world when these comics were being written.

Not playing it but if you are a Stadia user, you can buy it and get a Chromecast Ultra and Stadia Premiere controller for free. $160 worth of cloud gaming goodness for $60.

So far so good on PC. I do have a pretty strong PC (Ryzen 7 3700x, RTX2070, 32GB RAM) and am playing at 5120x1440 resolution at highest graphics settings with ray tracing off. The ray tracing looks gorgeous but my PC just can't do it without stuttering in really high contrast sequences.
I am 11 hours in and have noticed minimal bugs, but have seen screenshots of console players with an almost broken game. I don't even know why they ported it to current gen, just not strong enough hardware for this game (IMO).
Game is fun. If you want GTA look elsewhere, this is an RPG first, lots of exploring and dialogue. Combat is smooth, shooting is good, loot system is a lot like the Witcher 3 where you just constantly find slightly better gear and switch weapons every 10 minutes when you find something stronger. I am very satisfied with the game so far.

Johnny, yeah it seems impossibly hard right now. I think Im lvl 4? I found some nice mods early on by looting the taltuna factory before I tslked to any NPCs but Im not sure what gun to put em on.
But seriously both me and my partner get dropped if im not playing super smart all the time. I pretty much have to use a ton of coverage, and retreat til the enemy gets bottle necked or hide up on rocks.
I dont want to drop my difficulty just to het past the beginning as I am pretty sure itll het easy once I establish some armor and skills.

Apparently there was a driver update of some sort that helped got a lot of people patched up.

Aaaargh you guys are killing me!!
I don't play video games too much anymore; the newest game I've bought is Destiny 2. But i've been hyped about 2077 for years now. Cyberpunk is my favorite genre/style and this one looks really sick. Problem is, I have finals and 2 large school projects to work on so I won't get to play it until next week. I'm dying to try it though.
As far as bugs or graphics issues are concerned, you really should be expecting that with a game like this. The Elder Scrolls games, Fallout, The Witcher, etc all have lots of bugs at launch. Any sort of open world game will, they're just too big for a company to ever fully test.
I'll definitely buy it. Hell, I'll probably buy it today and end up ****ing myself with missed homework assignments.

I don't have any console or PC-capable machine for gaming, but I do watch a few lesser-known people on Twitch. Saw gameplay of Cyberpunk. Some really hilarious shit occurred.
