Last year I joined the club of guys who've crashed their car at the race track (outside rear tire de-beaded on corner entry, lost the rear end and wound up nose first into the Armco barrier).
This year (yesterday) I joined the motorcycle riders who've been down club. Foggy morning, misjudged my speed approaching an (apparently) notoriously slippery roundabout. made the right, straightened up and grabbed a fistful of brake. Just before I could release it and finish the turn the front end dropped out from under me. Probably only doing 25-30 km/h at that point. Didn't even get any adrenaline from it; just disappointment in myself. The motorcycle belonged to my late mother. I even had someone from here (messages are pre-hack) custom make some decals for it regarding my mom.
I'm fine (just a couple minor scrapes) and the damage isn't too extensive but I'm not sure I can afford to fix it right now with the house purchase and reno's. I wasn't far from home when I dumped it and it seemed sound enough for a slow and cautious ride home. Clutch lever is bent, Neutral indication light was acting up (but worked again at home), handlebars don't seem bent but straight doesn't go straight (looked under the bars and the heads were also not pointed straight so it must be one or both forks), scrapped up crank cover, cracked fairing, a few other scrapes here and there.
Just needed to vent I guess. Probably need to find out who did the decals before In order to get another 1 or 2 made.
