Can't recall if I shared this before, but I picked up a Celica a few years back. What a fun chassis for daily driving. This is a GT with the 1zz corolla motor and a 5MT. Only thing I've done is put on some SSRs and Flevas for some improved grip. I love this car to death. Needs an engine swap in the spring as the current one is knocking.

1uz swap? It might fit if you don't run a hood haha.
In all seriousness my buddy has one and he was looking into Subaru swapping it. Obviously it's extreme modification, but people have done it

JeeperCreeper No, at most I'd be interest in a 2zz, but this is one of those cars that I just want to enjoy the way the engineers wanted me too. I've done stoptech brakes, and am planning on converting the rears to discs, and I might consider some of the TRD optional upgrades down the line. But overall I just like the reliability of it. 1zz's are cheap and easy to come by.
Hoping to add an MRS to the stable in the next couple years.

Its too bad youre so far away. Said friend is selling his, has good 1zzFE, but the rest of the car needs so much he just bought a Subie instead.

Neat. What's the range on one of those

The newest model year ones do about 120 highway miles, and double that around town. The thing about EVs is they are super efficient at lower speeds, but when wind resistance kicks in it has a rather large effect on things. This is doubly true for motorcycles because every single production motorcycle has the aerodynamics of your average parachute.

endurance racing is pretty fun, 2nd place overall both days, in probably the lowest power car in the grid. 7 hours on Saturday, 8 hours on sunday. ultimately couldn't over come the small gas tank compared to the BMWs, but it was fun none the less.
on sunday, i passed the second place BMW on the last lap right on the main straight, so that was exciting.

Fresh from an engine swap (just another 1zz, nothing cool), my girlfriends Celica is back on the road. Even with gas prices high we find ourselves taking both cars out some days and chatting on the 2way.
