How do you properly install macro line lol?

Heat razor blade a bit and it cuts right through line nice and clean. Hold the line in a vice and you have a perfect 90 degree cut guide using the outer vice edge.

Wow I have been doing it all wrong.

I usually cut with wtfe I can find, dull scissors, pocket knife [usually at a crappy angle], crushing it with wire cutters, and so on. Then I jam it into the fitting as hard a possible. After adding air I swear at it while it leaks and pull at it in random directions until it stops. As they say 60% of the time it works all of the time. 😜

In all seriousness new orings in the fitting and a straight cut as mentioned. Or just do the above and pray the grace of Velcor is with you.

I'm sure you are not the only one, that's how we all have developed our own precision, hot knife, pencil sharpener, sand paper, flame, oil and grease strategy

Is someone willing to use all the ideas mentioned here?

I don't care what I cut macroline with, but I always take a file to the newly-exposed edge to remove any nicks or burrs that may damage the o-ring. Before installing, I apply a dab of grease around the tip. Extra insurance against damage, and it keeps the o-ring pliable in the long-term. Oil is fine, but grease stays put longer.

Any tips on removing a hose from a macro fitting? I can’t get a piece out. Even cut the line, and the fitting is just jammed too tight. The line basically bottoms out in the fitting so can’t push it down to release.

Perhaps a scalpel if there are any that thin and slice it vert? Or a torch to melt it out (and the o-ring in there).

Use pliars or something that can get around the hose and push hard the collar down into the fitting, and also use pliars to pull on the hose itself while pushing and pulling it.

Locking the hose in the way you describe is part of getting a good macro seal.

Fun note : probably best to change old-teflon tape on threaded fittings before fixing macro-line leaks as new leaks can form in this teflon after macro repairs. Try and fix 1 leak.. and it turns into 5 leaks somehow lmao.

As already mentioned, just make sure to slightly break the edges of the line after it's cut.
