    Wierd Axe Issue

So I dug my Axe (original and bone stock) out of storage and gassed it up after a few years idle. It powered up, held air, and the bolt cycled, but no shot happened. I pulled it apart, changed all o-rings, and greased it up. I didn't touch the front grip area with the board beyond adding and removing the battery.

Now, it wont turn on at all. When I plug a battery in, the light in the front grip flashes red a couple of times as soon as the battery is plugged in, and then nothing else. There is no response at all to the button on the grip.

I've searched online, and all I could find was to use a fresh battery and be sure the trigger wasn't pulled -causing it to boot in programming mode. I've tried three brand new batteries and backed the trigger adjustment out far enough that there is lots of travel before and after the click on pull and release. No dice.

I can't find this issue anywhere else, so I am coming here.

    Any ideas?

First guess is. The board is slightly shifted nd the power button is stuck down and or try a fresh battery.( again)

I would also pull the front grip and check the pin connections on that little header connector.

If the light is coming on right away as soon as battery connected, the power switch is stuck on. Like said above, it could be because the board shifted a bit. Other causes could just be crud caught up in the on/off switch contacts, or the contacts in the switch itself are completely shot.

Use spray electrical contact cleaner on the on/off switch to try and flush out any debris. Wait until things dry before powering up to be safe, this stuff evaporates VERY fast though and not conductive

9 times out of 10 just cleaning a switch fixes it.

I had a board that the on/off button crapped out on. Those boards are not known for great reliability. I wouldn't say they are a common failure paint but it's not unheard of either

          Thanks for the suggestions, all

I'm afraid it may be the board. I opened the front grip up and checked everything. The On/Off switch has a full "click" when pushed, and when released. The lights flashed the first two times I connected a battery (before and after the button check), but once I wiggled and press-checked the board's seating, now nothing happens when I plug a battery in.

Oh well. Factory boards aren't that expensive.

So it was the board. I bought a new Shockwave online, and everything worked 100% once the new board was installed.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.
