Removing paint/powdercoat on Brass/Nickel Markers

I am looking to refinish a few of my markers to bare metal...

PGP2 looking to remove the outside coat of black paint and polish the bare brass.

PPS Squall
This one scares me more than the PGP2 but is there anyway to remove the black powdercoat while keeping the nickelplated finish beneath safe?

Any advice or previous experience would be a ton of help!

ive used citri-strip (paint stripper), works pretty well -not as caustic as others. usually gotta use 2 coats. not sure if itll mess with nickle plating, dont think so
