How strong is a soldered on brass sight rail?

Thinking about mounting a havoc to this rail for an upcoming big game. I dont wanna snap the rail off or bend the top tube up trying to be a goof ball.

What do ya think? Soldered rail have enough surface area to be strong enough to mount a havoc with a carbon giber barrel?

Like... would you play a game like this and not worry about it snapping off?

You should go for it ... Worse come to worse, you can always re-solder it on there ...

If it's done properly, it should hold up ... Silver solder is several Kip ...
Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

I wonder if a piece of foam properly cut and trimmed could help support it just in case. Something like a pool noodle or the pieces of foam you see on gym equipment.

I could, but Ithen the break breach wouldnt be ideal. Id have to breach load my rockets.

Hmmm. Would an offset rail, help at all, or just increase the chance of snapping? Kind of like 1 of the Lapco versions.

If you look, I have a 3/8 to wraver adapter stacked with. Trinity 45 offset rail to make this all work. Lol, mainly just worried that the brass will fail from me clumbisly crashing around.

At one point in time, I had 1 of those lapco sight rails, on my Mac1. Used it to get around the feedneck on the left-side. 😉

Yeah I want to play a few rounds with that.
can you attach a bracket that goes around the barrel and havoc at the tip to support it.

I think that effects him using the break breach though. He would be then, forced to Muzzle load.

ID:	135679Could you get something, kind of like this 3D printed? And place it towards the end of the barrel. Allowing the use of the break breach. But, still give stability to the end of the barrel.

Yup that's what I was thinking. Might be able to rig something from home depot either the electrical or plumbing section.

So, a segway question, as the scenario game Id use this set up on is next Sunday. The more we talked about it. The more I realized I should be more concerned about my baby 8-32 frame screws failing than the rail coming off, but bacci has 2x similar bodies ready to go, so why not?

I wanted a quick and simple way to change the degree of the breach for this as the hopper is far enough back that I can swing over the barrel to load.

I snagged a brass shim from the shim drawer at work to get something to " gasket" i wanted to get a chunk of plastic shim and cut it, but I couldnt find a big enough piece.

Im hoping with some heavy vaseline itll seal well enough to use. Whats your take on a brass washer? Think itll work, or ill have a ton of blow by on the threads? Think I am risking blowing the breach or body threads off?

In any case, heres what Im cooking up.. i think ill lightly sand the shim down to get the barrel opening a hair closer to 90*.
