I'm looking for something portable but big enough for an assortment of tools and parts to take to the field.

What kind of toolbox are y'all using?

I use one of these:. https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/plan...B&gclsrc=aw.ds
Nice thing is that I have extra trays, and kit out trays for each of my guns. Then whichever guns I take to the field, I just grab the appropriate trays, and load them in the box.

I use one of these as a toolbox and it works great. Spare parts on top and tools on the bottom.
Husky 22 in. 22-Compartment Connect Cantilever Organizer for Small Parts Organizer-230379 - The Home Depot
As a bonus, it attaches to the top of this
Husky 26 in. Connect Rolling Tool Box Black-228224 - The Home Depot
I try to limit myself to what fits in the tote when going to the field with the toolbox on top. I do frequently end up with multiple totes at the field though due to my lack of self control π"but we all have electros and you guys only have pumps, this wont be fair"
(chuckling quietly) "we know"

I use one of these portable Husky toolboxes from Le Home Despot for home use. I personally would say it's on the bigger side of portable. The drawers lock closed when the lid is shut. Not really the greatest construction tbh, but it's fine for static use. There's also a few larger options which might have better construction?

There are a total of 4 bottom cabinets, and 4 chests in my shop. A toolbag in my truck camper, an entire drawer in my offroad rig for tools and spare parts, and a mechanics duffel bag for the boat.
In my field bag, i carry enough parts and tools for each marker to be rebuilt. It all fits in the side pocket of my body bag.

I just bring a tackle box flat of wrenches, allens, and lube. I used to bring a huge assortment of tools, now I just bring a few shooters and swap if one fails at the field.
This season I may get aco into bringing a nice tech station. But in my expierence, when you are the guy with the nice toolbox, you are the guy spending half the day fixing random newbies guns.

Although... I had a ton of projects last year, most of which have morphed into finished products, so I may be jumping the gun here.
Either way, I wouldn't mind something I could consolidate my tools and parts into that is portable. I already have a tool box I use for tools and misc but I think that may be going back to my work soon.

I have a small toolbox I try to keep the essentials in and then run larger plastics storage boxes that are long and flat to keep gear in when going to the field. The type you use for under your bed storage. Keeps things generally organized in the back of the truck and I can pull the specific one out when need and just toss back on top of other.
I usually just sub out any broken guns for a working gun and leave major repairs for home. Donβt want to be losing parts in the grass!

I like it because I put all the things I use constantly in the top plastic container, like small screwdrivers, allen wrenches, q-tips, change, thread protectors.
The side container has o-rings regs and other small items.
I put the larger tools like pliers, hammer, bigger screwdrivers, strap wrenches in the tool box up front.
Really big stuff like Plexus cans, towels and stuff I rarely use goes in the bottom.
Wheels are really nice because I can roll it into the bed of the truck and set it down on the back.
I used to use tackle boxes, but I got to the point where I couldn't find one big enough to hold tools.

I don't even use a toolbox anymore. I have a Redz roller bag with a large side compartment and just toss the essentials in there. I have various sized baggies in there just to keep things from swinging around too much. I used to bring a medium sized tool box to the field, but it was bulky and awkward and I found that I didn't need 75% of the stuff in there ever.π PK x Ragnastock π
