How do I tell if a Mag bolt spring is worn out?

I have a Classic RT that needs a rebuild kit desperately so new components are on the way, I'm just curious how to tell a worn out spring from a new one without anything to compare.

Anything I can find right now talks about Lvl10 stuff, not the Lvl7 I have.

the spring should stick out past the bolt tip. IIRC it was about 1/4"

Yeah, that's new, also IIRC. A worn in one should be good at 1/8" over. If the whole thing wears together, I've had some flush classics that worked fine (clean).

I have one worn flush and one around 1/8" above the top, which I installed for now. I have a kit coming, at some point... going on a week now with no confirmation of shipment from AGD and no answer to emails yet.
