What stinks is JT had an entire youth line back in the mid to late 90's.

Be sure and check any mask for your kid for breathability. I got one for my son that he kept complaining that it was hot. It was a jt. I thought it looked fine, but found out that the holes in the front were just decoration. It was very hot.

Also be careful when playing in the summer time with all that padding. My one son overheated because it got hot and he had a vest on and a jersey over that. Added with the full coverage mask, it was too much. I always suggest they take some layers off between games if there's time. It allows them to cool down before heating up again. Of course drink lots of water and not too cold. Had a kid collapse on me while I was reffing one time because he downed a bunch of ice cold water.

My son is 9 and he and his cohorts have been asking to play paintball. Part of me thinks that 10 might be okay in a private party, but I am still leaning to 12, mask issues, kids not understanding a good measurement of engagement distance, and mask issues again. It is hard enough reminding adults to keep their mask on, and they KNOW better. Kids are just going to do something foolish.
As it is, us adults have had a few run-ins where the kids have cried because of nerf darts in the eye. I have a pair of good fitting safety glasses for my son, and he still does not wear them once, I turn around.

A neck gator should help with neck shots, and with keeping somewhat cool. Not exactly bounce armor, or those neoprene neckbands, but should help. I have been wearing a recon wrap for years as a loose fitting neck guard and it has been great. I know the airsoft and cosplay guys seem to have smaller size tac-vest that are "supposed" to be plate carriers, but they would use foam or cardboard in place of the "plates" Could that work for your kids?

I have not read all of the comments. Just an FYI. This may have been repeated.
I started playing at the age of 10. My first time out, I used a rental Tippmann Pro-Lite. I remember it vividly. After the first day of play, I was HOOKED.
For me, the armored plastic gloves were a must. A 4x1 harness with 100rnd pods were a must (I couldn't handle 140rnd pods), and a youth football ribcage protector and a cup were absolute must-haves. Ribs are tough, but they hurt. Especially when you're a skinny little 11 year old.Last edited by Brokeass_baller; 05-09-2022, 11:30 AM.

I found this on Amazon, it’s a mad dog chest protector w/ matching neck guard, it’s a little big around the shoulders but it should work fine for a while. I also got him small valken gloves that have armored fingers and knuckles, their a bit big also but should work fine. I need to find him a jersey or something long sleeved for protection, and a full head helmet. I’m thinking I might get the crbn one I posted previously and a set of fans to kee his glasses fog free.

So, when is he coming out? Skirmish?
Don’t say the 28th when I won’t be there

What about a private group at APE if they do that there ? I would be up for letting your son get a shot or two on me so he gets his confidence up. I would shoot next to my son making him take cover then let a shot in on me so he really got the feel he was going to be ok.
