`i imagine if someone were to hold it when it blew, they would probably lose a few fingers. now i dont know why someone would ever hold it till it blew but i wouldn't put it past some people on this planet...

I'd be more worried about instant frostbyte than kinetic dismemberment.

The burst disc would blow WAAAAY before the tank blew.

Also, frostbite isn't that much of a worry. You can handle the CO2 dry pellets without gloves (albeit, for a short time). The gloves I wore when filling my tanks were single insulated hot work gloves. Thinner than your average winter glove. I was totally fine.
