Rec baller for the past 22 years getting back into it after a 7 year hiatus and am putting together an outing that’s a mix of beginner to intermediate players. I’ll probably need an extra 2-3 markers. I know 98 customs and carbines fairly well but from a thrifty price standpoint, what’s your idea for best loaner markers to pick up based on value ? I’ve seen 68/lite/pro carbines for cheap but also know those JT ER2 pumps also don’t have a bad rep. What’s your idea on a couple of nothing to lose guns to pick up? Not really looking to spend more than $100-150.

Can't go wrong with a name brand blowback. Older Tippmanns will almost certainly need a full rebuild (including valve) and may have bubbling paint. Mech spyders are great too. If you get a factory rear cocking model they're completely tank oring rebuildable.
I wouldn't call the ER2 horrible, but I certainly wouldn't say it was made for rec play at fields either. The original Azodin KP that ran on tank pressure is about the best beginner/hassle free pump I can think of. No reg to fiddle with or go wrong. A Trilogy pump or Psychobalistics bodied pump are about the same. Really anything without a reg would be ideal for a low maintenance setup.
