Performance at 10.5 they’re all pretty darn close. I have a 30 bps compare somewhere or I can redo it.

What are we looking at? Can’t see the axis labels. I’m guessing y is psi and x is time? can you do a test at 200psi? Is the volume of air the same for each regulator?

Y-axis psi, x-axis samples. I could do 200 psi. The volume of air expelled per shot is the same for all regulators as they were tested back to back on the same marker with the same settings. The air volume internal to each regulator won’t be the same as they are different designs with different dimensions.

      200psi would be helpful.
And a test @ 15bps mini pre-2k eblade autococker. test over chrono. I would like to see a dump chamber too small where the reg needs to keep up as the rof increases and pressure drops.

Performance wise, I love the Palmer’s Stabilizer. Easy to rebuild and a workhorse. Cosmetically, I like the looks of the ShockTech. The Palmer’s Shorty isn’t bad looking either

      Bringing this thread back up.

After recently acquiring two markers that have a Bob Long "360" reg on it, I'll add that to the list of decent/quality regs. Schrader valve instead of a reg seat should make parts pretty reliable, minimal orings to rebuild, easy to take apart, and the entire body can be rotated. Only con is the input location and the part where the swivel locks down can get chewed up over time.

Agreed. I do like that schrader valve reg design. Easy to rebuild. I love the old Torpedo regs as well. Not the best out there, but the prices & ease of rebuild are nice. The only thing I don't like about them is the side input, but it's not too bad depending on the fittings you use & if it's near the front of the trigger guard.

Surprised no one has mentioned Inception Designs regulators. They're not fancy, but quality is high.

I mentioned them. They are fancy to me and are at least as expensive as most of these others.

It really depends on the look. Short and fat palmer fattys sometimes look right. Stabilizers rarely look right. Inceptions look right on wider stuff, and 360's look right on skinnier stuff, so do the eclipse regs but those are not really available so count them out .

sidewinders fit the same stuff that the inception looks good on, and the 2 liter + reg fits stuff that look good with the fatty.

CCM regs used to be a decent value option for certain guns because of their size and port location but they are now worth more than most of these so not a good pick.

CP regs are great because CP is a good company.

I found the flow lacking. Had one on a mini revenge pre-2k that maxed at 260fps. Put the “proper” aka 2liter 290fps.

Everyone seems to forget the stock WGP regulators. Once set they work great and are super reliable. The only down side I see to them is of convenience; they are not externally adjustable but if you are sweet spotting you regulator on a marker that is only an issue during initial setup. What I do with them is temporarily install a "T" fitting for the air inlet with the "T" portion connected to the inlet. I plug the one pointing down and attach air to the right angle connection then if I need to adjust I just degas, pull the plug make my adjustment then replug and continue on until I get it set. Then remove my temp setup and do the final plumbing.

That's a great idea! I'll have to remember that. Thanks.

I've also heard that installing a straight macro fitting (and maybe QD) will allow you to use a small screwdriver to adjust. It would have been nice if WGP made it for hex keys instead.

Straight through Macro fitting is a good idea never thought of using one but the passage should be large enough to get a driver through it.

I just use a 90 degree swivel macroline fitting. If I need adjustment, I just de-gas and unscrew the bottom half and make adjustments. The swivel macroline allows for easy bottom half removal without even removing the macroline.

I've just become a creature of habit. I like CP and Dye Hyper regs. I know CP and Hyper regs. I have a million-and-one rebuild parts for them. So I have them on basically all of my guns. The only exceptions I can think of are a stock Ion reg on an Ion, an Empire mini reg on a project gas-thru grip eNMEy, and an ANS on an old RF cocker. Everything else is CP or Hyper. *shrugs*

When playing AAs’ ( Uni, Violator, Vigilante, Ice) were always my universe and basically all that was around me.

However, to modernize I am taking delivery of an AKA Sidewinder this week. Excited to see the progress that has been made.

What I do on those is take the cap off and install the 90 fitting with loctite. Then make sure there's an o-ring on the the reg body before screwing the bottom back on. Then just finger tight on the base and you can unscrew it easily to make adjustments.

I think this is the way to go, as I have never had acceptable luck running a screw driver through the fitting plus, I don’t want a straight fitting.
