    Barrel Adaptors

I have a Luxe X coming, but everything (besides a spyder) I have uses cocker threaded barrels. I really like using my Acculock barrel system which is cocker threaded. The Luxe that is coming is Ion/Impulse/Luxe threaded with a freak xl back and front but one only insert.

So I was thinking I'd get an adaptor that would allow me to use my Acculock barrel on the Luxe but will a barrel adaptor effect the useful of any barrel system

Or should I just get a set of Freak XL inserts to use in this one marker?

Do you under bore, over bore, bore match? I rarely use any freak sizes besides 675, 677, 679, with Nelson field paint. I wouldn't buy a full kit.

Where are you using such small bore sizes with Nelson? I presume someplace drier and cooler than where I am.

if I'm using cheap field paint I'll over bore because of irregular size balls if its quality paint I'll try to size as close to bore size as I can.

The thread adapter should not affect the usefulness of the barrel system, but that's mainly because insert kits are of at best dubious utility with open bolt markers.

That being said, I could imagine a little velocity inconsistency creeping in if you've got a fairly overbore thread adapter followed by a significantly tighter insert kit. Some air may try to flow around the ball initially before the ball moves into the insert, and depending on the roundness and orientation of the ball, I would expect some variance in how much air escapes that way from shot to shot.
