Mech ion help

I put together this mech ion using the SSC kit and cannot get it to shoot over 200 fps. The hyper 3 regulator is brand new even with the gauge reading close to 300 psi I can’t get it to chrono higher. Anyone know more than me about these kits? Thank you

Don’t have a qev for it I’m just using the stock banjo fittings

I think a qev will fix ya up. That or we need a larger dump chamber volume( not likely). You should be able to run that bad boy under 200psi.

Im honestly surprised the smav3 hasn't given you issues at 300 psi. They are only rated for 100 psi. We already kinda abuse them running the 120-160 ions run at.

Slap a QEV on there and it will very likely correct the issue.

What I suspect is happening is poor hose routing is causing the breech hose to be kinked and not venting properly - if the bolt moves too slowly it won't be fully forward when the dump chamber opens and vents, and some of the energy (air) is lost through the feedneck, causing low velocity.

Unless you don't have an Ion firing can - are you trying to run an Epiphany as a mech?

My mech Ions run at around 170psi with a QEV.

Jordan I bought one of these kits years ago and could never manage the hose routing without kinks. Any tips?

Use a pen spring on the hoses where they bend, it'll keep them from kinking.... and sometimes longer than necessary is better for making gradual loops instead of tight ones.

I ended up going longer lines on my SP1 mech and saved a lot of hassle. Ground some of the trigger frame was well to allow for a hose routing, frame is plastic though
