    Who still makes colourful parts?

I'm in the market for some upgrades on a few guns. These days it seems like anything anno'd something other than dust/gloss black is a stock barrel.

Other than CP, I can't seem to find anything that's got more colour options.

Side note, if you have dust silver or gloss green parts please hit me up.

Just a barrel and an ASA. Tough to find anything gloss green.

Barrels? I’ve seen colored inception barrels but maybe they’re always part of a body kit

            It's basically economics.

Anodizing a thousand parts might be as little as a buck each, done in bulk. Anodizing ten parts can be $10 or $20 each.

KAPP, back in the day, might have made 10,000 of any given part- there were literally something like a quarter of a million 'Cockers, and tens of thousands of Angels. They could afford to have 500 done in red, 500 in blue, 500 in green, etc. knowing that 98% of them would sell.

Today, we simply don't have a market like that anymore.

There's no real market for aftermarket parts, period, let alone heavy enough to offer a wide range of colors.

This raises the question, how many of the 1/4 mil cockers and 10000's Angels are in MCB hands!??

-First, we'd have to figure out how many 'Cockers (just to keep the discussion clear) were made in the first place.

I know that factory WGP guns made it into the six-digit serial numbers, but I honestly have no idea how far. Then there's post-WGP fare like Trilogies (and they made an F-Bomb ton of those) not counting non-WGP guns like Gen-X, Merlins, Osirises, Inceptions, Fastbacks... I seem to recall Air America was making body kits way back in the day (there was a threat of a lawsuit) and Meteor is making them today...

Personally, I'd say between 250 and 350K total is by no means out of the question.

Second, of course, is how many are left? I know I have a fair sized box of bare and partially-assembled bodies, a good 20 or 30, easy. Last I looked, Bacchi had a couple dozen, and I'm sure many thousands have been ruined and scrapped when people have tried home-shop milling. (There was a famous picture from years ago, showing an off-side pump slot that somebody had tried to mill using a drill press and a bolt-on X/Y table- it looked like three miles of bad road.)

Undoubtedly a good many have been lost, stolen and/or thrown away as well. So rough guess? Let's call it 150 to 200K still survive today in one form or another.

Third, out of those, how many are regularly being used? I have no fewer than six assembled, timed and ready-to-play 'Cockers in my collection. The last time I had one on the field was probably 2016. There's several guys that have collections of high-dollar 'Cockers that have never seen the field. So, rough guess, maybe a third get regularly used? Out of 150K, that'd be 50K.

Fourth, how many MCB'ers are there? Stats on the main page say about 3,700. That's 7.4% assuming every one of us has at least one, and uses it regularly.

                Doc.

CP, Freaks, and Dye make colorful barrels. ANS (I know, I know) usually has some exclusive colors of random things on hand. They still have a bunch of their regulators (the Unireg clone, I can't remember what they call it at the moment) and they come in some cool colors.
