    AutoMag Level 10 Bolt Pin

I've been rebuilding an AutoMag fitted with a retro valve and a level 10 bolt and it's been nothing but trouble.

The latest issue is with the bolt.

After a bit of test firing it started leaking a lot of air down the barrel. It had me scratching my head for quite some time before I noticed that lower part of the bolt pin was missing (it was inside the air chamber). From the looks of it this part is pressed in with Locktite or something similar.

My question is had anyone managed to salvage a level 10 bolt with this issue. I was thinking of using Locktite 620 which is a very good retaining compound and I have it to hand.

Try the loctite, I’ve never seen that particular failure.

I may have a lvl 10 bolt in the pile I believe. I shot it a bit without a bolt bumper, and I was convinced I bent that shaft. Eventually bought a new lvl 10 bolt, and mine has sat since. If pressing yours doesn't yield good results, I can see if I can find the one I gave up on.

Only other time I've seen that sort of thing was with the old Pro-Team venturi bolts. Every one we had locally (three or four) the center pin eventually walked it's way back. Never came out entirely, but when it slid backwards, the "timing" went haywire and the gun would stop working right.

On that L10... There's a lot of inertia on that pin. You can try a good Loctite or epoxy- careful you don't block the vent- but really, I'd be inclined to replace it entirely.

AGD just got bolts back in stock so if you're going to buy one, move fast.

I've loctited it together and so far it shows no sign of moving. It was a tight fit which is a good sign.

If not I can get another bolt locally.

I've spent a lot of time on this Mag which wasn't running when I got it and had multiple issues.

Maybe I'll get to use it now

This happened to me when I bought a Level 10 kit years ago when they first came out. If I recall correctly, AGD had me send the bad bolt back to them, and they sent me a new one, all free of charge. The other six or so Level 10 kits I’ve had since have been fine.

                  ^^^This.

I was also going to recommend emailing AGD directly. There's an email address and phone number on their contact page. Usually they charge players to fix or tech markers, of course, but this is such a rare, unusual problem that it wouldn't surprise me if they just replaced the bolt as a courtesy. It really shouldn't do that ever. Even if you've got it working now, I would still contact them. You'll feel better knowing there's a new bolt in there, even if the rest of the marker is still giving you trouble. (Maybe buy a parts kit while you're at it?)
