    Solenoid Voltage Question

Can I replace a stock 6v/1.8w rated solenoid with a 12v/1.8w noid without damage to the marker board? It outputs 6v to the solenoid. Thank you

Technically you CAN do anything. Whether it will work and/or is a good idea is a different question

I would be concerned that only giving it half the voltage would mean it would not function

be something ud have to try and see. id think that the board wouldnt get damaged. the solenoid may not fully function/or fully cycle because its meant to be fed 12v. the right part is always the best option.
      basically what trbo323 said

Yeah it's something that I wanted to test out but don't want to fry the board. The correct mac solenoids are hard/impossible to find in the 6v voltage.

This is because everything they sell are for customs implementations. You would need to work with their engineering for your use case. The min order qty etc. do not make if cost effective for most people. I have worked with them in the past.

You can apply that voltage directly to the solenoid, no board is needed to test.

+1 Best to use the correct 6v coil to function properly.

I've tried to contact my regional Mac distributor but I haven't heard back. I was trying to buy on the secondary market to avoid the minimum order debacle. This is for a Sandridge cocker that takes two of the same valve but I don't think the demand is there to offset the cost of having to order 200+ solenoids.
