2003 ProStock Feedneck

Have an '03 ProStock with what I'm assuming is a press-fit feed neck, that of course none of my loaders fit. I know I can sand down a loader neck, but beyond that are there any good options for getting a lever feed neck? I did find that Trinity made one to go over it, but I haven't been able to find one in-stock anywhere.

If I do sand the neck, is it just 220 grit and sand until it fits? Or is a coarser grit OK to start with? I'm not keen on breaking the feed neck of a loader if I can avoid it.

Side note- why aren't these dimensions standardized?! Drives me up the wall.

You can send it in to get a feedneck mod done. They just cut it off and design it to accept any empire type clamping feedneck.

I haven't had that done, but I believe both BMC Fabrication and MozakMachine offer that service, and I have trusted both with some precious items and they both have done amazing work.

Bearded Works (superman) also modifies them to take Empire spec feednecks.

I go a bit coarser - 100 grit - and use the finer grades to fine-tune fitment.

IIRC, hopper neck dimensions have changed slightly - I'd bet a Revvy would fit fine but everything else will be slightly too large.

I have a 2003, sent it to BMC to get machined down. Very fair price and fast turnaround. Before that I used a revvy, but not all shells will work. I had to replace shell and new one was too big so had to sand it. I sanded down a Halo and it took forever because it was so thick.

Just get a clamping feedneck, makes things much easier.

Nummech did my feed neck mod, but I hear he's unresponsive as of lately. Which is really unfortunate. He does great work.

That said, superman does great work, and posts often. He would be my go-to these days.
