Masking Threads for Sandblasting

What is a good way to do this? I've read about plugs for threads but I won't be blasting enough to really make it worth buying them. I've thought about just using nuts/bolts to cover them but I read about them getting stuck after the sandblasting.

Roll up some masking tape into a cylinder and jam it in?

Yup, wadded up tape works. I've used hunks of hot melt stick threaded in as well when the size is right for sticks I have on hand. Pretty much anything that will fill in the threaded hole will work.

Too late. I ended up putting screws in and putting tape over them. It was good enough for this.

Unfortunately the solder for the rail lug and Powerfeed took a walloping. There are some small holes in them. Hopefully they'll hold. And the finish is a bit more rough than I would have liked. I tried scrubbing it with baking soda and it hasn't gotten much better.
