Let's talk about the sticky icky

So what glue do you guys use?

I need to glue some magnets into a halo tsa, I've done this before on a different shell, used super glue once and gorilla glue the second time. They both broke off and both had other down sides as well.

Hoping to find something that is strong but has a little flex to it so if the hopper shell gets shot they won't just immediately chip off inside my hopper

This is what i use for Automag level 10 detents. There is more than one kind of the gorilla super glue. I avoid the gel one.

The biggest challenge is residue on the surface. You must must must remove all oil grease and residue before application. Use alcohol. I also suggest precoating both items to be glued, let that pre coat dry completely. Then apply a second thin layer of glue on top of the first layer, wait 30 seconds to a minute for the glue to firm up, then press and hold preferably with a clamp or another magnet on the other side. Just pick the glue that dries soft and pliable. I know what you mean, I suggest seal cement, used for fixing wetsuits. Or just plain rubber cement, but do 2 or three pre layers, completely dried and it will never die. I learned from a shoe cobbler.

This is excellent. When I need to glue things I usually just lightly scruff the surface with sand paper, then clean it with rubbing alcohol to pull all the oils off and that's seems to do it, but the pre-coat layers are an absolutely brilliant move. Going to for sure add this to my gluing process from here on out.
