Compared to something like the Winchester or APP 50 rounder, how well do the old WGP/Zap/"Paintball" 45 round Ammo Box loaders feed?

Quintessential "shake and bake" to load and can be a little irregular internally so one will work better/worse then another. If you are an active (movement) pump users they can work just fine but do not reliable feed beyond the ball stack so not recommended to sedentary players or semis especially today's crop of markers. Winchester and APP 50 both feed better.

The WGP ammo box and the Brass Eagle pocket hopper are two entirely different things. Have both, have used both since I started playing.
WGP ammo box is pretty much trash. Doesn't feed very well, smaller than maybe 40 rounds capacity, has fingers that necessitate using tubes to load. Also has a weird sized feed neck so you have to tape it up pretty good. The only application I ever found for these was to use on guns intended for "cram n jam" 10 rounders, specifically early Trracers with the o-ring inside the feedneck.
The Brass Eagle hopper is actually decent. Definitely not the fastest feeding hopper out there but fast enough for use on older pumps. My go to setup a long time ago was an old sniper 2 with vertical 4oz and a BE pocket hopper. That thing worked great. The lid is basically a plug so fitting it with a sock keeper to load with 10 rounders is a good idea. I normally just used the plug and would top off between games.
Right now the mini WInchester hopper is the absolute best and is what I use. I do however keep a couple BE pocket hoppers on the side as backups.

When I got my Trracer it came with an Ammo Box but also an elbow, PVC painted black. I cut the tabs off the opening and added a Taso scope cap. You still have to load with tubes but it stays closed and quiet that way. I eventually moved that same scope cap to a Viewloader (...75?) where it sits today. The Trracer eventually ended up with a clear Revolution, but in recently years I’ve switched back to the Viewloader since it’s way cooler looking.
My current small loader is the Sight Feeder. It feeds so-so but not that bad. If I want to carry serious load I used the Gog “multi caliber” which out feeds everything, probably even the Revolution.

My first gun was a Classic Spyder package. Came with both a VL200 and one of those boxes. I tried the box for kicks and promptly ended up shooting the bajeezus out of it with my BB gun. Wouldn't feed worth a damn no matter how I tried to make it work.“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” -Krishnamurti
