Hey all,
I recently picked up a lot of markers, and the cocker pictured below was part of it. It has raised some questions for me, I'll try to break them out into smaller chunks, and please answer what you can, I would greatly appreciate it!
1). I know this is a AIM Swift body kit, but as far as I know AIM only made body kits and not full cockers. ID on any parts would be a huge help!
2). When looking at the seller's pics I assumed it was a hydro dipped by the detail and the number of parts covered, however, now that I have it in my hands it seems to be ano, I have never seen an ano like this. I have never owned a hydro dipped item, so maybe I just don't know. However, the Bolt is the same coating and it is gloss, which makes me think it is not HD. Another user posted it was an oil based ano job. I would love to know more about it, and link to someone who does these.
3) Behind the trigger is a dial with like six or eight settings that seem to adjust the trigger pull. I have never seen this before. Any info on that would be great.
4) All the markers in the lot are covered in a very thick sticky residue, I assume it is from the environment they were stored in. Last night I rebuilt the PTP cocker in the lot (what a transformation!), and I soaked the parts in hot soapy water (like I normally do), and it would not wipe off. It reminded me of a thick pine sap, so using my Maine life hacks, I thought oil might soften it, so I sprayed everything down with olive oil and let that sit for an hour. It then wiped off begrudgingly, but it was a pain, especially getting inside the body tubes...ugh! Is there an easier method, without damaging the coating?
5) I was planning on flpping this (I basically bought the lot for the PTP cocker in it), but after having it in my hands I am now second guessing that (don't tell my wife, seriously!). This just feels amazing and I am sure it will look even more so once it is cleaned up. It comes with three matching two piece barrels, .691, .689, .687 which appear to be a 12", 14", 16". With that in mind, what would be the value on this after I clean, rebuild, and time it?
