Hey everyone, I just picked up a raw autococker body and I don’t know what way to go with my markers finish. Anyone have an opinion on which is better between powder coating and anodizing?

Anodizing don’t powder coat it. All the internal channels will pit because they will still be raw. Anodizing hardens aluminums surface giving it better wear properties and keeps it from getting pitted.
Powder coat really isn’t a great option it builds ip on the surface and can cause tolerance issues. So its application is limited with paintball makers. Like Tippman 98 clam shell bodies things that don’t require tight tolerances.
Cerokote is a better option but I would still not use it on something that’s raw especially a cocker body. It’s a decent option for parts already anodized you want to clean up with a durable dust finish and save some money.
I wouldn’t go with anything other than anodized finish if I were you.

Cerakote is pretty thin, so it could be used on interior and threaded surfaces. But there's also a reason anodizing is the standard.
Lots of times, a local plating shop can do a batch in a single color for under $100. Nobody's going to compare to some of the paintball specific multicolor work, though.Feedback

Even if you decide to Powder Coat or Cerakote it really is smart to anodize aluminum parts prior to coating. Anywhere you have to mask off to use a coating will be unprotected from corrosion and wear if it is left un-anodized.
