O-rings tear on spout if pushed from front and tear on threads if put in from the back end.

I am thinking of using plastic from bread bag to slide past the threads. Also plan on harder o-rings.

There must be some kind of burr in your body. those valves are designed to be removed and installed through the back. I have removed mine dozens of times and never had problems with the orings. a little oil and pushed in the back. pull the trigger to let it slide through.

I have a System X NME what has a burr on the body and shredded o-rings. Took a file to it and have appeared to fix the problem.

Also if you've recently replaced the valve o-rings they might actually be a bit too thick. The valve doesn't move, so the o-rings just have to seal. Sometimes stretching on a o-ring one size smaller will cause it to be just a bit thinner, hopefully still big enough to seal, but now hopefully small enough to get past the threads.

Luckily on a Mirage you shouldn't have to remove the valve all that often. Used to maintain a small rental fleet of the things back in the day, could strip down one, clean, lube, and reassemble it in about 30 seconds while blindfolded (yeah, me and the other refs got bored one night). Only pulled the valve out when it was leaking.

I think you may have the solution as the valve needs force to push into the body.
What are the odds that the valve actually leaks?

This orings were two thick. However I did two guns and both still leak (not nearly as bad). I pushed valve from front by the feed spout.

I noticed when the fellow in the shop pushed the valve he twisted it. Is this to prevent tearing the o-ring.

This is is so frustrating. Even 1/2 assembly to test them takes time.

ANOTHER FRUSTRATIND DAY...........even heated gun upper in hotwater and valve in freezer. This resulted in more dificulty loading valve and jamming.

                    where would the burring be?

Here's something to try. Take the o-rings off completely on the outside of the valve, and try installing it.

This won't be, well, functional. But it will tell you if the valve fits at all. If you can't get a smooth valve install with no o-rings, it most certainly won't work with them. Polish an de-bur as needed to make sure the valve can fit smoothly with no o-rings, then try o-rings that are obviously too thin and small and see if it seals. If not, go a bit thicker and larger until you get a seal.
