    Tippmann Crossover XVR help

I recently got back into the game after 15 years and I picked up a Tippmann Crossover XVR as a backup and loaner. It arrived yesterday and I took the guts out of the top and gave everything a nice clean and lubed it up with techt sav. I put a new 9v in and all the electronics seem to work fine and when I turn the eyes off I can shoot it. The gun clicks with every pull and it seems the solenoid is fine. I air’d it up and no leaks at all. I dry fired it several times in Mech mode with no problem. I switched to E mode and it clicks but does not shoot. I switched back to mech mode and it fired a couple of times and then stopped shooting.

Now, every time I pull the trigger in mech mode it just hisses air somewhere underneath the trigger. It won’t shoot. In E mode the solenoid clicks but no shot is produced, it doesn’t hiss either, all it does is click.

I dropped it off at my local Pro shop and they have always been the best so I have no doubts they will be able to fix it but the suspense is killing me and I’ll have to wait a week or so to find out. What do you guys think is wrong with it and do you think it’s going to cost a lot to fix?

It will be hard to tell you with any kind of confidence since you can't check it with it being at the shop.

My first guess would be the on/off pin or whatever tippmann calls it. Those seem to be the linchpin of the crossover/flex valve. Tippmann doesn't make them anymore either. What happens is they bend after a lot of use so I'm wondering if it was bent in your marker to the point that the solenoid didn't have enough strength to force it but in mechanical mode your hand has more strength so that's why it worked for a while there. Then eventually it bent a little more and that's where it stopped working completely

Good news is someone here is making replacement pins, they are stronger than the factory ones so should last you. Bad news is, IF that is the problem your shop may not know where to find them so they may charge you to not fix it because they can't get the parts.

Regardless I would do a full rebuild since the history is unknown. Replace all the o rings and start fresh

Thank you so much for the response and education. Could you please send me info on how to contact the member who makes the upgraded pin?

This would be me. I got it created for the X7 Phenom and it functions perfectly. Would love to know if it works with other markers!

These are for the the X7 Phenom! I got them custom made and they definitely work with the marker! They have been tested and should not cause you any problems!

Hmmm, here is another one I found, this one lists the actual part number in the crossover manual

So, I'm not sure. My gut says they are the same, there's no real reason for tippmann to change the pin since it's the same flex valve. The crossover was first though so there's a chance they could have made some small changes or improvements for the phenom

FlightMedic938 if that's the part you need and don't want to mess with eBay. CustomPaintballMarkers sells them here also.... Tippmann X7 Phenom T20 Trigger Pin (TA30039)
Would save him some unnecessary fees. Says it for the X7 Phenom though. Maybe CPM can tell if it's possibly compatible.
