    When should I rebuild my autococker?

    Hello experts, I’m new to the mech world as I mostly play pump. I have a wgp pro stock and I’m wondering when I should rebuild the pneumatics and how. I figure it’s all o-rings, however my knowledge on pneumatics is only how they work. It airs up fine and cocks but last time I didn’t get any pressure out of the barrel. Although I’m pretty sure I probably had the bolt facing up. :/
    90% of my markers go “Psssssssssssss”

    I'm pretty firmly in the camp of "replace o-rings when they leak." If it works fine, I see no reason to tear it apart and replace stuff. That's especially true with cockers considering how touchy they can be and how obnoxious some parts are to disassemble. LPRs and 3ways aren't hard at all, but rams are really annoying to rebuild. So I hesitate to recommend doing anything to them unless they really need it.

      Could be, but on a prostock that should be easy to adjust. If you haven't sweetspotted the LPR, do that. If your hoses are still blowing off, replace them.

    Well, not matter when you do it, she will need it again right in the middle of a game 🤣

    Seriously though, if it has sat unused, unlubed for a while (more than a year) I'd consider it, or at least put it on the things to do list before an important event. If things are stiff, leaky, or throwing odd velocities, it is certainly time. I usually let some symptoms present before I rebuild.

    If it is a new to me marker it at least gets the full teardown and inspection. It is more of a feel than an expiration date.

      Air tool oil. Cockers hate grease.

    Keep it reasonably clean (do not leave caked with dirt and paint between outings), occasionally add some good synthetic air tool oil and wait for issues to arise. I rarely tear my markers down and "rebuild" unless there are problems. When I owned Autocockers firm believer in getting them set up and timed then leave them alone and just play. Occasionally a drop or two of oil in the asa at the beginning of a day of play.

      It’s very clean luckily. Haven’t gotten to play with it much since I got it. I’ll definitely run some oil through the Asa when I get back home

    Hoses get hard/less flexible as they get older, which can make them prone to blowing off. Hose locks alleviate this issue.

    I service all my regulators at the start of the season, just regreasing.
    I am fastidious about cleaning equipment and oiling after a day of play.

    They should work without issue for a long long time.

    I think my autococker with the longest time between rebuilds currently is about 10 years.

      In general I never preemptively replaced rings barring pulling something out of long term storage (like all of my markers that sat for 14+ years).

      Granted if you are taking apart a reg or 3 way or what ever to change one ring you may as well change them all on that time.

      After 5+ years though you may want to start considering doing a rebuild.
