Grease Gun Whips for Air Line?

So I saw these at work a while back & now I’m wondering- can these be used for air line? Rated for 4500 psi, 1/8” NPT threaded. And being in black is a huge plus, not to mention I get a discount.

Would this be OK to use for an air line? Is this some old school hack from back in the day? This could be a great potential solution for certain projects.

Looks like the same specs as paintball guns use. I’d be surprised if this isn’t being made on the same equipment all the paintball bottom lines were made on. They’re going to be making huge batches of these in just one size for large retailers so that probably explains the lower price than hoses that are typically marketed for paintball.

Hee! What goes 'round, comes 'round.

Those are, in fact, exactly what everyone used with the original "California Constant Air" setups- with the tank slung under the stock. It wasn't 'til a few years later that you could get the bare braided stuff, and eventually nickeled ends.

The only issue is that occasionally those hoses will have slight leaks, that show themselves by ballooning part of the black outer cover.

I have used them. As Doc mentioned, they arent as reliable as genuine air lines. Some leak.

Can confirm. I tried to use one in highschool, it leaked pretty badly.
