I use a 684 micro shot with 676 and 680 sizers as needed. My sniper shoots lazah-tit-ropes. And I get about 30 shots per 12ie when shooting stock class so the efficiency is well good enough. Only barrel “kit” I’ve ever felt the need for, I’ve been using this setup for at least a decade.

I like a freak for my cockers/snipers. I find it does help efficiency. Sizers are nice for preventing rollouts and using vintage barrels that can't get bored (typically stainless). If I use a sizer its the Tech-T/Python system.Velcor will save us...

Since I'm not worried about efficiency, just roll-outs, I use the LAPCO sizers. With their short length, I would like to think that they are less likely to rupture the occasional ball that is oversized (or oblate and oriented the fat way). I'm typically using them with a .688 or .689 CP one piece or Dye/Proto UL.

If you pair a sizer with a relatively small
bore barrel with a long control bore you will have better numbers then if you put it behind a 690 with 10 inches of porting. This thread actually has me curios to test my kit against a freak barrel for shots per 12ie. I be surprised if there was a difference based on my experience so far.

A control bore is much better than just a sizer to hold the paintball. Paint is all over the map these days in terms of sizing and consistency. Once you get sub .677, it's a hotdog down a hallway situation, and you will have to crank up your velocity to compensate. Or when you have a bag that's all mixed sizing, and you need to overbore to try to get some kind of consistent velocity.

I'll give you another alternative or two, Wedgits or Dummy detents. I use Wedgits on my Pyre with a 0.685 bore and really do not worry about roll outs at all no matter what shape of size of the paintballs. Wedgits were done by PPS but it is pretty easy to do with most barrels and especially easy with brass barrels but I have done them to aluminum (AC) barrels as well. Even easier are Dummy Detents/inserts and they are super effective and insanely simple and cheap. I use Dummy Detents on my non-bored Phantom barrels, only down side to them is losing them when you pull out the barrel at the end of the day. Did I mention they are cheap $$$ so make or buy many and keep in your kit.
For crappy paint that we tend to get any more I am a fan of Over Boring with Wedgits or Dummy Detents and just go play without worry.
