Help me create a battery disconnect

Ok so, bit of a process here but maybe someone sees a solution I haven't yet. Or knows how to track down electronic switches better than me

So, working on a vanguard creed, one of the quarks of the vanguard creed and demon(same board) is the board basically doesn't turn off. It will shut down the screen and all functions of the marker but the board itself is basically still running while the marker is "off". This, as a surprise to no one, runs down the battery. Typically it's manageable but it's also not great for long term battery life.

So I was/am looking to solve this

Option A) unplug the battery between uses
Problem 1) constantly connecting and disconnecting the battery from the board makes me worry about the board contacts
Problem 2) the original grips for the marker which I really like, have a flaw in that if the screws are tightened down too much they will crack the backer on the grips. So id like to avoid constantly taking the grips on and off

Option B) make an extension plug. Plug goes into the board, battery into the plug.
    Solves problem 1
    Still have problem 2

Option C) run the plug wires out the bottom of the grips so the connection is external like the shocker 4x4
    Solves problem 1
    Solves problem 2
New problem 3) I now have wires running external on the marker, less than ideal

Option D) I have some on/off switches. Think spyder e frame style. And there's actually enough room in the frame above the board that I could mount one. It would be in a similar location to the spider e frames but still would be covered up by the grip on the left side. I'm not worried about drilling/cutting the frame in this location. I think that part will be pretty straight Forward

    Solves problems 1,2,3
New problem 4) I would need to cut a rectangular slot in the grip itself. I'm not confident that's the best idea because of the weak backer

Option E) use a push button on/off instead
Solves problems 1,2,3,4 as I would only need a small hole in the grip itself to poke a screwdriver or wrench through to disconnect the battery

Problem 5. I'm having problems finding an appropriate push button on/off

Here's one I was looking at

But it looks like it's only a momentary switch, so it will just turn back on/off when released. The dimensions of this one look like they will work though.

So that's where I am, having a hard time finding a non momentary on/off button switch that's small enough for the space I have.

    Ideas and thoughts appreciated

if you want a latching switch, there are a few small option dsigned to fir on PCB.
the 2 bellow are some i found quickly on amazon, no affiliation of any kind, just examples.

Is there room to mount the switch in the grip panels instead of the frame for option D?

Not in a good spot and also I don't want to mount directly to the panels because as mentioned, the panels themselves are already weak

So, after talking it over with Lt. head-shot yesterday, I decided to just use the slide switch I have on hand. Everything I was finding for an on/offf latching switch was too large. The slide switches are much smaller.

So I basically combined solutions d and e. Still using a slide switch but only drilling 2 small holes to poke a small screwdriver through instead of a rectangular cutout

So I qued the rock music and started drilling. Here's where I am. Little rough but I don't really care because it's going under the grips.

Those two very small holes in the grip is all that will show from the outside. One to flip it off and one to flip it on.
