Howdy, playing in an open class pump game mid July and wanted to run 50rd (or maybe cut down pods to 75rd) but I like the way my standard JT 4+3 pack fits. Anybody try running these smaller pods in a standard pack? What's your experience. I know I could probably stuff them with foam to fill the empty space or just use the elastic loops but is it worth just buying a purpose built 50rd pack? Also could run my stock class harness but seems like a hassle to reload the 100rd Tippmann hopper I usually use. Thanks

50rd pods in a standard pack?

Yeah should be just fine since a 50 round pod is usually just a shorter normal pod. And I've seen others do it no problem.

Two standard size paper towels stuffed in the bottom of a standard 140 pod will give you the perfect size pod for the tippman / Sport shot style hopper (100-90 paintball) . This allows you to just use what you got. They stay put keep the paint from rattling. It works really well gives the hoppers just enough room on a fill to move around and not over fill the hopper.

KISS Keep it simple stupid. Love it might just do this instead of hacking up my pods ๐

If you run a 50 round hopper I would say itโs worth investing in a good pack to hold them but options are pretty limited to hold 50 round pods. PBMafia 5-50 and the ANuS gear knock off are one of the few available. A guy on eBay was selling some standard packs that worked amazing for 50 round pods for like $20 shipped with pods but they sold out of them. I snagged a few before they sold out. If you need one and can wait next time we play I can bring one from the stash for you.

Play with a pod pack like Five Fifty from Top Stitch and you can use everything from 50rd to 150rd pods and even mix and match if you wanted.

Sure can run em in a standard pack. My favorite over the years was a cheap 4+1 i sewed the top open down and could use the tank pouch for another tube or a drink. I am currently using a hk pack with no issues unmodded. Be creative with what ya want and find the pack that best suits your needs. Hope this helped.

This one is 5 ten-rounders in a Fat Boy Slinger 100 rnd pod. This one I just left one of the flip caps on the tube and it keeps them snug. I used to have 2 viewloaders as well. Most 100 round pods work but sometimes the tubes will want to slide out. A rubber band or a cut coozie or tank cover keeps the snug as well.
These fill my winny with dye lock lid completely empty to full. You could put paper towels below them to put them right to the ridge to cap rh at exactly 50.
i like these because I have 5 10 round tube, a 60 end pod, or a 100 round pod in a smal package.1 Photo
