Ridiculously low velocity from AKA Viking.

I finally devoted myself to restoring a Viking I've had sitting in my closet for years. I fully rebuilt the reg, LPR, and hammer. I also opened up the noid and greased the spool lightly. The reg core on the sidewinder was replaced and the LPR reg seat was replaced. It holds air and it cycles very well. But when I put balls through it they go maybe 20-50 feet.

Some things I'll be doing in the near future: I foolishly used dow 33 to lube everything and of course after I was done I saw the manual saying to not do that. So I plan on cleaning all the grease off and relubing with oil. I also will be messing with the dwell, but it's unclear if the equalizer board is going into programming mode or not. Frankly, the light patterns I'm seeing aren't following the manual at all.

What's the HPR set to? Could easily be a submarine door situation if it's too high

That was my thought as well.

Reg was set to 200 psi. LPR was set to 85. Ridiculously low velocity. I went all the way from the bottom to the top of the pressure for the HPR. Velocity increased a tiny bit when going above 200 and then took a sharp nose dive. Velocity did not increase when I went below 200.

Everything move smoothly when not aired up?
Most vikings hit 300fps at about 200PSI operating pressure with an LPR setting of 72 PSI (once broken in). So your reg settings should be hitting velocity.
Double check you have a WAS board and not a Pandora if it is a total mismatch on light patterns.

Could be your battery is not good, even if it is "new."
Could be your dwell is low
Could be your board is worn out
Could be your solenoid is dying

If the light patterns aren't following the manual at all then check the manual for the NME board, it could be a 2.0 board, and that was the only manual with that particular documentation

Also, when you took your noid apart (really not recommended), did you make sure all of the pins went back in? And that the core was oriented the same way that you pulled it out? (I put a guide on pbn for how to do this)

My first thought would be, the grease inside the solenoid and the ram is slowing down the cycle speeds.. I would make sure you get all that cleaned out and try again, the only place I use "not oil" on an AKA are one the manifold o-rings so they will stay put and not leak in the future

What about the valve being installed in the wrong direction?

Yes, I did do that. But it leaked when that occurred. So I was able to figure that out. I can't believe I put the valve in backwards.

Regarding the noid, yes, I did make sure all the little pins were in the correct place. I'll check the guide re the core.

Maybe the obvious, but did you install the bolt backwards? It fits and looks ok, but basically just pops the balls out with no air power.....
