HELP! Sniper farts even after sweet spotting reg...

I'm pretty fed up with it at this point. I have a 2k full body pump sniper that just keeps farting. I sweet spotted the reg and nothing has changed noise wise. Shoots great just sounds annoying as heck. Any suggestions on what could be causing the issue valve bounce? How can I fix it without replacing every spring?

You could try a heavier hammer or a different valve. Honestly though, replacing the springs is going to be the correct solution. Might want to try the Nova valve out, since it comes with springs. It's got an amazing sound signature and is really quiet.

Iโ€™ve had more farting with my nova valve than any other valve Iโ€™ve used.

      @Frmrspec

What hammer are you using? Mine has ZERO fart with the Nova valve spring, an Inception main spring, and a heavy Shocktech hammer.

Hold the pump handle forward some while firing? To be honest every pump Iโ€™ve ever heard farts.

acp stuff is good. not trash
you might have better luck with their standard kit. everybody thinks "low pressure" is so important but anything sub500psi is already low pressure.
do you have a reg tester?

Spring for the ac parts gold kit. It is heavily 'inspired' by the CCM lower tubes. 325 PSI input pressure and CCM springs and it'll run fantastic with no farts. The stock springs also work just fine, the ccm is just a bit lighter pump stroke.

Yes, still the same annoying fart. This is not normal.

Actually itโ€™s quite normal. Are you having some sort of performance issue besides the sound signature?

What is the farting noise? - This is the result of hammer bounce. Some valves open with lower force than others and will reopen letting little bits of air escape when the hammer bounces back.

A heavier valve spring, shorter hard hammer spring, or lighter hammer spring can all help.

I recall that ACP kit (shocktech clone) having a very light valve spring. So I would start with swapping that to a heavier one. That type of valve is not a common choice for sniper setups.
Need Inception Designs or Shocktech Products? Let me know!

Sweet spotting your regulator has really nothing to do with whether a sniper "farts" it has to do more with efficiency of the Reg output in relationship to the whole valve train [passages size/shape, number and angle of turns air makes, spring combo and valve efficiency. While "farting" may sound weird/annoying it is not necessarily an indication/symptom of a problem. The lower pressure [longer dwell] you shoot for in the setup the more likely you will hear different sounds from your setup not just "farting so Hellion360 question what is the noise. If it is actual valve bounce that does negatively affect your efficiency but really does not affect general performance and does sound bad. You can also hear spring ringing if you are sprung too light. Like Hellion360 mentioned up your valve spring rate to a stiffer spring then re-spring your hammer to match. Also watch your hammer weight. Most players swear by heavier hammer is always better but you can have farting from too heavy a hammer for your operating pressure and spring combination. Don't worry too much about sweet spotting while trying to get rid of your "farting" get your springs and hammer stable then re-sweet spot or don't sweet spot it really is not that important on a pump IMO sweet spotting only really affects efficiency and I don't worry about that on a pump too much, you just don't want to be too extreme on your reg. pressure either high or low. I tend to set mine anymore for somewhere around 350 psi and forget about it.

Are you using a really short barrel?

Sound signature is quite different between a 14" and 8" barrel. Shorter is louder.

Just throwing that out there - likely not your issue though.

Embrace the flatulence. Otherwise you'll spend more time springing than playing.

The least farty valve without having to go down the springing rabbit hole I've used is the PPS LT valve, but like others are saying it's not really worth the effort considering you'll barely notice the toots in game.

+1 Springs and hammer weight will relieve your flatulent woes.
