What cheap boards can drive a clapper?

I have a weird project that is perfectly solved with a clapper solenoid.

What cheap, readily available boards are out there that can drive a clapper? Full auto is a must, dip switch ROF is preferred, and long battery life is a plus. It'll be running "blind", so either dumb eye logic or none; anything that automatically jumps to a fixed, slower rate when the eyes are blocked would be a problem.

I might need just a few to start, but if I were to need 50, I want something I can still buy.

Is that possible? Azodin, maybe?

You know... that might be the right answer. I forgot about those. The Bluetooth would be better than a dip switch bank, too. (Non- paintball end user, so limited patience for set up.)

I'm interested to see what you're doing, because I have odd plans for a clapper solenoid as well, and would love a better board than the Spyder LED.

**Edit** Dang.. there used to be an endless supply of Virtue spyder boards on ebay for nearly nothing... damn, I'm sad now. I always kept them in the back of my mind for projects

I haven't had any luck with Morlock boards and high power draw parts (clapper/mq valves/etc)

idk, id imagine any of the low end electro stbb stuff. but full auto would be difficult.
they would be the ones that came with boards but blind...

A lot of the Stbb boards have full auto. Actually most of the spyder brand ones are. Ironically less of the off brand boards have it.

I think the Morlock will do fine, but Curt helpfully told me to check power draw for the sake of battery life. Even a 1 w solenoid (so tiny) will require a plug instead of a battery to run for a long as I need. I was going to look into a capacitor to help the solenoid along.

Curt was responsive over email, too. I hope i get a chance to use his stuff, but a more senior guy had another idea that may wind up being cheaper. We'll see if programmable or cheap becomes more important.

Thanks for the ideas, everyone - and talk to Curt if you want to know if something will work, as he's a proper dev who just loves tinkering and solving, as far as I can tell.

do morlock boards run capacitors? you will need a cap for the clapper. WGP select fire are also cheapish
