Dumb question I feel like I should know the answer to, but I have a nice CO2 tank with SP on off valve I don't need. Want to check if it has any air, I imagine you have to screw it into an ASA first, then open the valve?

First, make sure your eye is directly over the valve. Like less than an inch away. Open as wide as you can, you only get one chance to see inside. Turn the tank upside down, you want to make sure the liquid is at the bottom so you can see it well. Then open the valve as wide as you can so you can see inside.
