    Palmers Cart Reg Woes

I put this stock class sniper together recently and its been efficient and consistent for ~ 1000 shots.
    was getting 32 shots per 12gram @ 275fps.

Took it out today and started having an issue where I get 10 shots at 275, then velocity drops to 200 for 12 shots, then back up to 275 for the remainder of the cart.

Anybody know what the issue would be?
cart reg is on a fresh rebuild but i have a couple more kits. guess ill start there.
Autococker Parts.com Gold kit (ccm clone) in the lower tube
    Reg is set at 350psi

sounds like the Reg could be the culprit there - wish I could be more help but following with interest because i just picked one of those regs up at Bacci's this summer. have not gotten to tuning it yet. also very impressed with 30 shots out of a sniper. whats your internal set up? I have a couple 2K cockers I've wanted to convert but cant get any kind of efficiency from 12g.

one thought - were you rapidly shooting through the 12g? could be cooling it down to fast?

      as states in the post,
bottom tube internals are autocockerparts.com gold kit
      reg set at 350psi
      2 oring freeflow bolt
14" bob long longshot freak bored

wasnt shooting any faster than i would in an actual game. taking my time, hitting targets.

ill crack open the reg later today to have a look

i havent touched it since buying it off my buddy who got too frustrated and gave up on his stock class build.
im interested in seeing the numbers at a slightly higher input pressure, seems like a lot of folks have good results around 400psi

I suggest, and I reserve the right to be wrong here...

find out your sweetspot pressure using a bulk co2 tank, and an easier to adjust regulator.

Then test what that reg is at with a pressure tester.

Set the cart reg to the same pressure, again using that tester.

Reinstall the reg and she what she does.

Not every marker rides at the same numbers.
My last build liked 290. But I found that out by starting low, moving it up gradually until the velocity started to decrease again.

very good advice, will be my process later tonight when i get things apart.

12grams can be funny tho. ive definitely had some builds ive worked on behave differently tuning using bulk then switching to carts

Honestly something is up with palmers regulators once they’ve been rebuilt. I’ve had this exact issue at least 4 times on different stabilizer regs where is just stopped using them with 12 grams after they were rebuilt. Straight from factory they keep the 12 gram at a constant pressure until the last shot where they vent the last of the air. After rebuild they creep once the pressure in the 12 gram starts to drop causing over pressurization and low velocity. These same regs used on constant air don’t have that same problem.

mine was working this exact same way. no drop off at all then vents
might be sealing surfaces/break in/need different "co2 friendly" seals

i believe the factory palmers orings were different material because of co2 -not buna orings. i forgot what they were, urathane?

Fresh rebuild may be spiking causing FPS drop.. maybe attach bulk tank and break in the system?
